Team Name (your first name) >Rhein Fire (Richard)
Now for your introduction...we have a few questions we would like answered but feel free to add whatever else to your intro you would like. These questions are a good way to start though....
1 Who are you? Where do you live? > I am a 50-year-old father of two (a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl) and live in Arnhem, The Netherlands. I originally hail from The Hague and I am of Dutch/Irish/West Indian decent. I work as a Technical Application Specialist in payment systems for a very large multi-national conglomerate…
2 Tell us about your fantasy football experience, including the types of leagues you play in and where they are hosted. > I have been playing fantasy football for over 20 years and have played in any format imaginable but prefer keeper leagues with some sort of salary cap and full IDP. I have only once one a title as I was mainly used as ‘the rebuilder’ by guys I played with that ran several leagues and had open teams that needed some serious rebuilding which I prefer to do I may add…
3 Why do you want to be part of Roster Wars...what drew your interest? > I was alerted by Nathan (Stellenbosch Saints) with whom I am in another league that Roster Wars might be open for new owners. After going over the bylaws I am convinced this is the type of league that suits me very well and I think I can be a valuable additional to Roster Wars as I am a very active and committed owner which I think is what Roster Wars is looking for…
4 How much time in a typical week do you spend on your fantasy football hobby? > About 12-15 hours as it is my main form of leisure time besides my busy job and my family…
5 Talk about a favorite memory or crazy fantasy football related story. >That the only title I ever won was with a team that had absolutely no chance to even make the playoffs and in the title game I had Josh McCown as my QB and no healthy RBs, I won the title game by just over a point on the back of very strong defense…
6 What do you think members of your other leagues would say about you as an owner? > Active, committed, honest, knowledgeable and always in for a challenge…
7 Anything else you would like to add? > Feel free to ask me anything you want; I will probably respond to 99% of the questions…
8 Are you joining to be a friend of the league or are you prepared to be tested to see if you make the cut? > Of course I am, bring it on!

Welcome aboard Richard. Not sure if you can change your username, but it should be Rhein Fire. Don't worry if you can't someone smarter than me will help you out with that.
Anyway, make yourself at home, find some threads that look interesting and jump on in!

Welcome, glad you found your way here. You're going to get a wonderful welcoming committee. You come at a good time, we're currently searching for the smartest person in Roster Wars so, do you have a PHD? The guy doing the search may take a few days to see your answer.

The Netherlands is okay but I would prefer to live in Ireland but my wife is dead set on staying in The Netherlands. I am a huge Saints fan and also support the Steelers as my AFC team!

Thanks for introducing me to the league Nathan, I have already had one of the developers here at work transform the online Bylaws into PDF which I am going to go over later tonight. That is if my personal 'Bonnie and Clyde' will let me...

Originated in Friesland. My Grandfather traced it back to the late 1700's when they came over to the US. I'm sure I have some members on the family tree still living out there but I don't know them. My last name is Holwerda.

That would be really nice Nathan. I have been a Saints fan for over 25 years so i went through the bad days, the painful playoffs failures and ultimately winning the Super Bowl!
Who do you think should be our starting QB next season? I would prefer to keep Jameis if he gets fully fit again...

I really really hope we keep Jameis.
However the more I read about these Jimmy G rumours the more I am preparing for it. Yesterday I would've said no chance, but the more I think of Jimmy G the more I feel he might suit our team - quite release, basic, just feed slant boy and experience. A very budget Brees! (And he has got over the 2nd ring hump unlike his lord Drew Brees and the pre-madonna Rodgers - btw there way too many packers fans on this forum)
I dont think we should draft a rookie - we need a veteran who is ready to compete - the NFC South is wide open

Based on the small sample size of Europeans interested in RW, the Jags have made no headway on a local fanbase by playing in London every year.

Arnhem has a lot of historical references to WWII. I'm putting A Bridge Too Far on my que.
I think the Saints, Steelers and Tampa are vying for Jameis (IMO).

Rhein Fire currently plays in the European League of Football, and their head coach? None other than former 9ers HC and celebrated press conference farter, Jim Tomsula. He also coached their former NFL Europe team back in the aughts.

I agree wholeheartedly we shouldn't draft a QB, the best ones all have their flaws and none of them is a sure fire franchise QB. I could see Teddy coming back which wouldn't be too bad as long as he comes cheap and we can rebuild the team considering the cap hell the team is in...

Thanks John! My name is Richard Patrick and youare absolutely right that Arnhem is well cemented in WWII history, which is still yeral remembered in the Autumn all around the Arnhem region.
I think Jameis will resign with the Saints, he will not go back to Tampa and I think Pittsburgh will try to get Jimmy G...
