That was quick. I'm fine with being on kucoin for now. Still awaiting coinbase or gemini verification since gdax seems to be down too.

Kucoin is solid just slow as fucking balls with all the new users. Cryptopia is great for finding coins before they get big. Etherdelta too. Binance is the best IMO.

I recommend getting on Binance as soon as you can. I use all the ones Justin mentioned but Binance is far and away my preferred exchange.

Others just have such low volume usually tough to fill some orders

Yeah, you can trade BTC, ETH, LTC, and BCH. I just checked and seems to be up and running now.

GDAX is the place to buy in rather than coinbase (i.e. deposit into coinbase then immediately transfer to GDAX to buy). It's free since same company. If you buy on GDAX it's free as long as you use limit order (otherwise there are fees for takers).

Same.

BTW: I was finally able to get into Kucoin after setting up a new account with a different email.

Is there a place on Kucoin to track fees charged?  I bought KCS so I thought that they would be used for fees.  But if I buy 4 of a coin, I only get 3.96 (or some other fraction).  So it looks like the fee is taken from the purchased coins.  I also seem to have acquired a few extra KCS -- which I think is the result of the bonus they are running where they redistribute a portion of the trade fees. End result is that it's tough to track what I have there other than trusting what they have for me and only by looking at the Kucoin site.

On a side note, is there a good article/video on how to transfer funds to a paper wallet?  I know there's risk with that but I don't have enough to justify buying hardware to store the funds.  But, in any event, I would imagine that the transfer process is fairly similar.

So I'm getting to the point where I think I have my portfolio where I want it for a long term hold. When I made my OP I didn't realize how many of my small cap coins had become large cap until after I had posted it. I might be spread a little thin and I'm still missing one small cap coin I really want that is only on Etherdelta which I hate called PayFair.

PostSubject: Re: Crypto Currency   Tue Jan 09, 2018 8:35 am

Here's how I classify my current portfolio:

Safe Bets. I expect 2-4x growth. Nothing more. Very unlikely they go down.

Icon (ICX)
Stratis (STRAT)
Dragonchain (DRGN)
EthLend (LEND)

Medium bets. At best I'd get an 8x in this range. Low risk of dropping to zero.

Cindicator (CND)
FunFair (FUN)
SimpleToken (OS)
Po.et (POE)
Xtrabytes (XBY) - Kind of a tweener between medium & big. This one could 30x.

Big bets. Swinging for the fences with these. Potential 100x'ers.

Elixir (ELIX)
EncrypGen (DNA)
MyWish (WISH)
Opus (OPT)
Dotcoin (DOT)
Mothership (MSP)

What I look for in big bets:

Low market cap (the most important part of a big bet is a lot of room to grow. You're way more likely to 100x your money on a 30m market cap coin than a 300m market cap coin.)

Some kind of community. You need people who will spread the word. I check for an "okay" following on Reddit & Twitter.

Circulating supply is at least 50% of the total or max supply. Helps prevent inflation. If the number of coins will quadruple in a year then that means the price needs to do that, at minimum, just to keep up with its current price. It's why I exited LUX even though I like the project & potential.

It serves an actual purpose. Has some sort of innovation behind it that would make it actually useful. Working product is a huge plus.

Trade ETH for Alts on an ETH/ALT trading pair. See my first video. Or you can trade your ETH for BTC and then trade in BTC/ALT pairs (there's more of those.) Let me know if you have any questions.

Your boy Justin has finally went off the fucking deep end BTW.

I sold all my ICX, the one coin I swore I WOULD NOT SELL, and hopped into APPC for a bit to ride the wave of their coin burn announcement. Then sold that for BTC and bought LEND at 2,300 sats with all the coin. Then transferred all the new LEND to Kucoin and sold it for 2,450 sats because it was trading higher over there. Then I took all that BTC and put it on CanYaCoin which was just listed on Kucoin and has a trading competition going on. It's my single largest trade ever valued over 6k.

Hoping to ride this over the next week to a 2x at minimum where I'll break that up to increase my positions in DNA, ELIX, WISH and DOT.

This is what we call day trading and it's exactly what I swore I was no longer going to do in the OP. I've burned myself doing this so many fucking times I've lost count.

Yet here we are. Doing it again.

shrug

This morning I finally made my matrix of 2017 trades and damn I made a lot of trades last year.  Usually that would scare me with taxes but the overall percentage gain was higher than I thought so will just let my buddy Mr. Accountant figure that out and not worry about it.  My immediate goal is to wait for BTC to go up little so I can sell 3 or 4 and buy a Raptor.   Guess I shouldn't be too surprised since I've already made 19 trades in 2018 and it's only the 9th.

Glad you guys are able to get in and figuring it out.  Just stay in your means and don't get (too) crazy with all this.  Read article yesterday they estimate 21% of people in crypto are either on margin or using borrowed money.  Maybe I'm just too conservative?

Grats Justin on latest balance.  Awesome seeing how far you've taken initial investment.  I tailed you on Deepbrain when you first posted and it's pumped nicely.

Haha. That would be awesome. My run was more a matter of timing and getting in early more than anything else. I don’t know of anyone that wasn’t positive in 2017.

Most likely I won’t buy it because have a friend that sold .5 BTC last fall to buy a gaming computer and we always make fun of him that he really overpaid.

Man there is so much to learn here.  Justin is going 1000mph, I'm going 10. ROFL But some things are starting to make sense.  Still don't know what all this block chain stuff does, and all these coins out there make me go.  dizzy  I have to re-watch Justin's last video as I was getting comfortable with the USD value of stuff, then he throws out other value terms shrug   For me, I'm still trying to grasp these companies and their coins.  So I keep doing more and more research and then all of the sudden, I see a company that's out here in the real world grin talking crypto coins.  KODAK is launching an ICO (Hey Ghoji, I learned what that means) at the end of this month.  They are starting a block chain, or whatever they're going to do for photographers and their pictures to launch a revenue stream and protect their photos.  Even with their announcement of getting into the Crypto coin world, their NYSE stock rose 30% today.  To actually hear about a company I have heard of out here in the real world, getting involved in this stuff make me go:   thinking2

Here's their news:   KODAKcoin

The only thing surprising to me is that the number is only 21%. If it were 45% I would believe it. I'm glad you and Justin have mentioned several times that people should only do this with money they're willing to lose.

I know I'm over simplifying things here but KODAK stock was at $3.10 on Jan 8th.  Since their announcement of KODAKcoin, their stock is now at around $11 today on the NYSE. surprised  Maybe there's something to all this craziness that Justin & John are talking about.   vote yes

Coin base has a 5 to 7 day wait period when you make a purchase directly from a bank account. At first I was annoyed by this because I wanted to start trading my ETH for alt coins right away.

But basically since I made the purchase ETH has done nothing but go up and most alt coins are getting rekt, so I am kind of glad for it now. I think I might just hold this ETH longer term.

I know its Warren, but just like with every opinion on crypto you have to take it with a grain of salt.
