PostSubject: TITILATING TUESDAY TAKE-AWAY 2017-WEEK 5   Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:35 am

by KRAM LLEOR

What can we take away from this week? The Degenitals are 0-5 barring a stat correction that goes in his favor. Then the muskies will be 0-5. The Piggies have won 4 straight, and don't seem to be looking back. Odell Beckham got himself injured and is done for the year. Four games could be decided by a stat correction. On to the Take-Aways: CORRECTIONS NOTED!

{2-3} TITLETOWN TYRANTS (281.52) at {3-2} MINNESOTA ETERNALS (276.96 pts)
With a 7 point lead going into Monday night, the Tyrants were clinging to hope. The Eternals have some flexibility in this match-up due to the fact he could start Xavier Rhodes or Danielle Hunter. Guess what, he started Xavier Rhodes. The Tyrants had 5 players top 20 points in Rivers, Beckham, Hilton, Harrison, and Barron. The Eternals had Rodgers, Jalen Mills, and Devin McCourty top 20 and Telvin Smith had a great game with 36.80
Take-Away: With the loss to the Tyrants, the Eternals fall 2 games back. You have to question why the Eternals started Rhodes instead of Hunter? That would have been the difference here. If the Tyrants were on the losing end, a stat correction in the Tyrants favor could have been the difference.

{3-2} ATLANTA AFRICANS (248.88 pts) at {4-1} LITTLETON SILVERBALLERS (337.04 pts)
The Africans were riddled with bye week players this week. It didn’t help that three of his players totaled 0 points. He did have two players top 25, though, in Carson Wentz and Kiko Alonso. The Ballers had four three players totaling over 25 points in Cam Newton, Melvin Gordon, and Antonio Brown, and Geno Atkins. Not bad at all.
Take-Away: We all knew the importance of this game, with the two teams atop Chapter Two, one just cemented himself as the cream of the crop and the other one cemented himself as a corn stalk in a bean field.

{2-3} OAKTOWN MALOSOS (220.98) at {4-1} INDIANA MAYHEM (288.96 pts)
The Malosos had 3 players total 20+ points in Hogan, Kelce, and Poyer. The Mayhem had 3 players total 20+ in Green (29.90), Shazier (21.00) and Joey Bosa (25.00) and that was enough for the Mayhem.
Take-Away: Here again, a win by Malosos would have put the teams tied at the top of Chapter 3 and would have further separated the Malosos and Mayhem from the Degenitals and Muskies. It seems the Malosos muddied the waters in this one.

{2-3} NEVADA NIGHTHAWKS (269.04) at {2-3} WHISKEY CREEK GADABOUTS (268.38 pts)
At least this week for the Nighthawks, they had 2 players score over 20 points. The Gadabouts had 3 players barely put up 20 points in Crabtree, 20.20; Cameron Brate, 20.30; Joseph, 26.00 and Jarrad Davis, 20.00.
Take-Away: It seems as though neither of these teams really want to win. Just marginal at best this week. Let’s see what the Stat Correction God has in store for this match-up.

{5-0} ENGLAND DRAGONS (324.04) at {2-3} TARPON SPRINGS REDKNIGHTS (316.32)
What else can you say about the Dragons. Well, even with Brees on a bye, he had 65+ combined out of his QB position. He had a couple of other players top the 30 point mark in Reshad Jones and Melvin Ingram. The Redknights toppled over on his bike and rolled over his lineup. He got good starts out of Gerald McCoy, Kendell Bechwith, and Jalen Ramsey, and Leonard Floyd. Who is Leonard Floyd?
Take-Away: What can you say about this game? I know, the Dragons are AWESOME!

{0-5} DOS FACES DEGENITALS (263.80) at {1-4} MUSKEGO MUSKIES (277.46)
This game was an epic match-up from the beginning (NOT!). The Degenitals got 20+ points out of Hoyer, Fournette, Aaron Jones, and Hopkins. The Muskies had Dak, Will Fuller, Jurrell Casey, Burfict, and Gipson all top the 20+ point mark.
Take-Away: The Degenitals came up a bit short in this one. This one could be reversed this week, let’s keep an eye out.

{3-2} MAPLE GROVE MEAN MACHINE (258.16) at {1-4} CALIFORNIA NIGHTMARE (238.84 pts)
The bye week was two-fold this week for the Mean Machine. One was the NFL bye week and the other was playing the Nightmare. So by default, the Mean Machine shouldn’t have to play this game. Just another lack luster week for the Meanies. The only bright spot was Alex Smith. The Nightmare got 36.14 points out of Deshaun Watson and 26 out of Kendell Beckwith.
Take-Away: The Meanies are back in the win column this week. What does that mean? Nothing. The Nightmare lose a heartbreaker and neither team is very good.

{2-3} NORFOLK BOMBERS (349.16) at {2-3} BERGEN BRAWLERS (266.22 pts)
The Bombers got over 52 points out of the QB position, a 26 point effort out of Linval Joseph, and a 30+ point effort out of Reshad Jones and a near 30 point effort out of Mark Barron and that was plenty to get by the Brawlers. The only bright spot for the Brawlers this week was Ryan Shazier with 21.
Take-Away: The way the Bombers beat up on the Brawlers was one for the ages. The Bombers have the highest “points for” total in Chapter 4 and are only 2-3!

{4-1} NORTH WALES KNIGHTS (287.62 pts) at {3-2} HAMILTON STEEL CATS (274.18 pts)
The Knights took it to the Kitties this week. Cam Newton, Joey Bosa, Brandon Graham, and Tavon Wilson all tallied 20+ points. The Kitties got some good play out of Travis Kelce, Harrison Butker, and Telvin Smith this week, but alas it wasn’t enough.
Take-away: The Knights are about as good as the Kitties, but the Knights are sitting at 4-1 and can be beat.

{2-3} ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTERS (288.52 pts) at {3-2} SAN FRANCISCO GOLDDIGGERS (282.78 pts)
Nice week out of the Oysters, looks like no shucking this week. The Oysters got good production out of Melvin Gordon, Hilton, Hopkins, and Kiko Alonso all with 25+ points. The Diggers can put this loss on DeShone Kizer’s shoulders. While the Diggers got solid play from Adams, Beckham, Ertz, Ingram, and Thomas, they still fell short.
Take-away: The Diggers have dropped 2 straight as of this printing, we will have to watch the Stat Corrections on Thursday. Is it already over for the Diggers? Are the Oysters gaining momentum?

{1-4} KANE COUNTY GOOD SQUAD (245.50 pts) at {3-2} CHARM CITY JUSTICE (266.12 pts)
Goonies got a solid 30+ point effort out of Dak Prescott and a 26 point effort out of Akiem Hicks, but nothing really else out of anybody else. The Justice got solid 20+ point effort out of Chris Hogan, Gerald McCoy and Blake Martinez.
Take-away: The Goonies have dropped 3 straight and continue to fall. The Justice have won 2 straight and are only points behind the Diggers for the top spot in Chapter 6.

{4-1} PHILADELPHIA PIGSKINS (355.24 pts) at {2-3} NAPERVILLE DIVINE (273.52 pts)
The Piggies had 8 players total 20+ points and all but 5 players topped double digits. The Divine had 5 4 top 20+ points with Fournette leading the way with 31.40.
Take-away: The Piggies have rattled off 4 straight wins after the opening week loss to the Meanies. The Divine have lost 3 in a row after a 2-0 start. A definite reversal of fortunes with these two teams.

You shouldn't have to wonder too much why I swapped players...but I'm sure the lesson wasn't learned as I'll do it again next time.

Great job Mark!

Thanks for the write-up Mark. With a 6-17 all play record this week, I will thank the scheduling gods for the win and move on to getting trounced by the kitties next week.

Nice write-up Mark.

I don't think my squad is as good as the Cats, but we caught them on a good week for us.

I'll take that!!

When I came here Bob was pink. I remembered this the other day by looking at my picture album, not sure what I did this for, but I think it was funny at the time. Miss you Bob!

Survived the stat corrections.  Golddiggers points were changed to 282.78 which would have beaten my 282.52.  But the fantasy gods awarded me 288.52 to preserve the victory.
