It's a steep price to pay for Greg. But if you want to get a top 4 pick you have to pony up the assets. I like the deal for both sides but would lean towards the picks.

He now has the 1.04 and the 1.11. With this draft those should be solid players.

Successfull long term maybe but very few players are a lock to give consistent numbers in year 1. If 1 of those 2 picks score 150+pts in year 1 I'd consider that a success

Greg seems to be doing s full re-tool and is clearing house for picks.  If you are going in, go all in, no sense fucking around trying to middle shit.  Should be a good year for drafting with a nice class, so Greg has timed it right.

If you're going to re-tool aren't Prosise and Shepard going to help with that process. You could easily do worse than that with the picks. Based on their first year they have pretty bright futures. It's not like you're trading guys toward the end of their career.

Guess that depends on how you really value them.  Prosise has only really shown an ability to get hurt frequently and Shepard has a QB going into his final few years and then who?  A lot of riff raff between the Phil Simms era and the Manning era.  Sure Indy and Green Bay have ducked that problem, but who else has???  As long as the picks are similar value to those used on those two guys moving on from them and re-setting is not the worst idea IMO.

I love it when people have a strategy and stick to it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The 1.04 could be future superstar. I dont think Procise or Shephard will be superstars. I think this was good trade for Greg.

Did somebody just dial up SMAK?

In a trade that involves all players on one side and picks going to the other, all SMAK does is change the current betting odds to win World War VI that pertain to current team rosters as of this moment in time. Now of course, RFA and the Rookie Draft will play a big part in changing the odds when that happens.  But if you were to head to your favorite casino tonight and tell them I'd like to place some $$$ on either the Nightmare or the Justice to win World War VI, this what the odds board would look like after this trade was recorded.

Justice is now sitting at 40 TO 1 odds to win World War VI

Nightmare is now sitting at 100 TO 1 odds to win World War VI

Bergen Brawlers gave up Year 2017 Round 2 Draft Pick from Kane County Goon Squad and Year 2018 Round 2 Draft Pick from Bergen Brawlers and Year 2018 Round 5 Draft Pick from California Nightmare and Year 2018 Round 6 Draft Pick from Decatur Freakshow
and California Nightmare gave up Hundley, Brett GBP QB and Ebron, Eric DET TE and Ertz, Zach PHI TE and Ogbah, Emmanuel CLE LB

Ebron 3 years, everyone else 1.

I'd take the picks but mainly cause I think Ebron is no good.

Yeah, with Dez, Tyreke Hill, and Lavonte David about to become FAs already, not sure where paying that much for Edelman makes a ton of sense, but I will wait for Mark's explanation, I am sure he has one.

It likely went something like this:

Matt: Hey, any interest in Edelman? *thinking he can get back the 3rd he paid for him*
Mark: Sure, love the guy. I have an Edelman pillow case cover and my license plate is Edeldaman. Would a first be enough?
Matt: *jumping up and down and showing the e-mail to his class; composes self* Um, I don't know. Brady really does like him. I think I'd need two firsts.
Mark: How about the 1st and a 3rd?
Matt: Ok, but you have to toss in Clowney.

And that, my son, is how things get done.

If Edelman had a 5yr contract, that might be a viable price. At a stretch. But a FA?

no
