Kansas City Cyber-Techz (Rick)

Hey all, my name is Rick Kerns. I live in a suburb of Kansas City on the Kansas side named Olathe.
I've been playing fantasy football and betting on college and pro football since I was 18 which I guess has been almost 22 years now. Bout to turn the big 40 this season in November.
I play all types of fantasy football including redraft, dynasty, IDP, super-flex/2QB and college leagues but I have not gotten into a devy league yet. I'm currently in 5 dynasties and a couple redraft leagues. Looking forward to getting into the redraft league here as a part of this great community and maybe someday become part of the main league.
I spend way more time per week on fantasy football than I should and my wife would certainly agree with that. Luckily I'm in IT so I have access to a computer or smart phone 24 hours a day.
Last season was a great one for me as it was the first time I cashed in all my leagues and won multiple.
I think my leaguemates would say I'm a fierce competitor that loves to talk trade, probably too much, and I'm always willing to help out with anything I can.
Think that about covers me. Just another guy that loves football that wants to become a part of this great community.

Glad you found us dude. You will want to change your username to your team name. Also, do you want to become a prospect for the dynasty league, part of the Training Camp redraft league, or just hanging out talking football? All are welcome. Dug into the bylaws yet?

1. Change your username to your team name
2. Make sure you read the bylaws for the ROSTER WARS TRAINING CAMP in their entirety. Ask questions if you have any because most here can answer them and everyone could use refreshers anyways.
3. I'll email you before long to get a photo to use on your avatar.
4. I'll also send a request via paypal for the entry to RWTC 2016

Besides that, look around and jump into any thread you want. You'll find this group is seriously one-of-a-kind.

Got my username changed.
For right now just looking to start slow in the re-draft league but certainly do want to become a prospect at some point and I damn sure aspire to get into the main league and run with the big dogs.
I will read and re-read all the RWTC bylaws.

Should we be targeting Ware or West as the handcuff to Charles?  Any thoughts on how Charles will do this year?  How about Conley?

I always love to get scoop/thoughts from locals.

These are just initial thoughts, I should be going to training camp in a couple weeks to get some more detail.
Charles? I don't have a feeling yet, he's come back before strong and he's an athletic freak so I wouldn't bet against him but me personally as a dynasty guy I wouldn't be drafting him.
Handcuff? I prefer Ware as he's much bigger, is set for goal line work and he can also catch and pass protect. I have read some things recently that say he is likely the main backup ball carrier to Charles with West being more the change of pace back.
Conley? Another athletic freak and a great guy off the field but I'm just not sure this passing offense can make another receiver viable beyond Maclin and Kelce along with Charles coming back as well. For dynasty purposes I'd stash him but don't expect much for redraft purposes.
Remind me that first week of August and I'll report what I see at training camp.

What line of work are you in?  From your name and response I would guess something with ESI review, investigations, etc.  We work with a lot of those guys in my office.

My company develops software as a service specifically for law enforcement and government.

Interesting field.  We get into a lot of ESI issues and it's amazing what you can find on computers, even if "destroyed."  

We probably know a lot of the same people then.  We work with a lot of the people in that industry including the former head computer forensics examiner with the County Prosecutor's office (he's now out on his own).

Yeah we'll have to talk in private sometime and see if we know any of the same guys.

I go on at least one away Packer trip per year to support my team, travel with buddies, and see NFL stadiums. Went to KC for the Chef-Packer game in 2007. Arrowhead is still my favorite stadium to date. While we were there they were scouting Lambeau to do their renovation, would love to come back and check that out some day!

Yeah Nick you guys did some awesome renovations to Lambeau and the Chiefs followed soon after with some renovations of their own at Arrowhead. Only thing that sucks about Arrowhead is not much to do out and around the stadium as it's not a downtown area but it's great for tailgating and the stadium and atmosphere inside is second to none. I'd love to get up and see Lambeau someday.

Then you would see what Arrowhead is 2nd to.

Very possibly, just the ghosts of Packer past around that place alone would be worth it.

I will be back in that area, for two weeks, at the end of October possibly. I will have a free weekend in between. The last dude I hung out with from the league quit shortly after...and was never heard from again though.

LOL must have scared him off, that's funny.
