I'd take Wentz over Goff. Even if Goff had a much, much better year, dude is the definition of a noodle arm. He was able to get the ball downfield in college, but I don't think those throws translate. He can probably fill an Alex Smith type of role, but I think that's his ceiling.

I think there lays the issue. QB is sooo overvalued in the present NFL that if youre not willing to take a guy like Wentz in the top 5, you wont get him.

That may be fine for you, but for coaches starving for a franchise QB, even the hint of someone who could develop into one is enough to make him a top 5 pick.

Current reports are the Eagles are "enamored" with Wentz and are the frontrunners to trade with the Browns.

Probably the best landing spot for Wentz as he wont be thrown to the wolves. Pedersen has said on numerous occasions that he thinks rookie QBs should sit for the first year. With a guy like Wentz, that's best case scenario imo.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Browns think the gulf in talent between Cal QB Jared Goff and North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz is "fairly wide."
With the Rams fully expected to take Goff at No. 1 overall, the Browns are now faced with a choice between the quarterback they view as clearly inferior, a position player or trading out of the No. 2 pick. La Canfora reports the Browns have "become increasingly motivated" to trade the pick, and they could find a willing partner in the Eagles, who are reportedly enamored with Wentz. It remains likely a quarterback is taken second overall, but it looks less and less likely the Browns will be the team making the pick. Apr 19 - 8:23 AM

Looks like the Browns agree with you, Chris

If Goff has a noodle arm, then so does Wentz, considering Goff actually throws the ball with a little more velocity than Wentz does... From the metrics I have studied, Wentz has a measured throw velocity of 57 mph, and Goff has a measured throw velocity of 58 mph, so, in reality, the combine measurables don't support the "noodle arm Goff" theory...

Link: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000640929/article/lynch-goff-create-most-velocity-on-combine-throws

As a matter of fact, Paxton Lynch has prototypical NFL QB size and a better arm than both Goff and Wentz, why is he not being considered at #1 overall? In all seriousness though, I would be interested in why you would take Wentz over Goff... What are the reasons?

Andy's favorite coach may be getting re-upped!!!

The LA Daily News' Vincent Bonsignore reports the Rams will "pick up" extension talks with coach Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead "over the next couple months."
Quote :
ESPN's Nick Wagoner first reported these negotiations in February, but it does not sound like they have gone very far. With Fisher entering the final year of his contract, it makes sense to sign him to a short extension to avoid a lame-duck situation, but any long-term pact would be met with consternation by the fan base. Fisher has never won more than seven games with the Rams and has helmed just two winning seasons since 2004.

Yeah, why wouldn't you want to lock down this guy? I mean if you let him go, you risk him moving to another city and forming another facility in his Tennessee Titans franchise. We have Titans-East and now Titans-West...maybe Detroit could be the new North hub of this assclown's mission to collect all the average talents in the world. The only bummer though will be when the Detroit Lions become the London Lions before Fisher looks to the South for a new facility.....to which we can only hope he chooses Hell.

I jumped online to check out ticket prices for a game this year. Was curious to see if maybe I could surprise my brother for his birthday with tickets to a game.

Ha...fuck that!

I did find some in Section 27 (green zone J) for $88 per. Not good enough for me.
Endzone Sections 14 and 15 (purple zone C) for $150 per and up.
Sidelines (zone A & B) for $200 per and up.

I went and did a self guided tour of AT&T Stadium in Arlington when I was there at the beginning of the year. Fucking unreal. I remember showing Corey the pics on my phone when we got together for lunch in KC. Anyways, it may be a different story when the Lambs get the new house, I would have a different "value" of how my dollar was being spent. Maybe next year.

Got two tix to go see the Phins play Opening game last year at FedEx and they were $100 each. Great seats about the 40 yard line and lower bowl. Had a blast other than all the driving I had to do...

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Rams are expected to extend contract-year coach Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead before the start of the regular season.

This farce has been unfolding since the winter, when it was first reported the recently-relocated Rams wanted to lock Fisher up through their L.A.-rebuilding years. Headed into his 22nd season as an NFL head coach, Fisher hasn't won more than eight games since 2008, and has cleared the mark just twice in his past 11 campaigns. He should be on a short leash, but instead has as much job security as Bill Belichick. The Rams are unlikely to ever get over the hump with Fisher on the sideline.

Can't wait to hear Andy's response to this. That guy loves Fisher.

Also, the LA excitement is fresh, and Cowboy fans will be a plenty. 90k+ in the Coleseum for their first preseason game. Wonder how many they will have if they lose a few games right away.

I fucking love that LA (who didn't deserve a fuckin NFL team) got this one and is promptly re-upping the contract of this perennial hack to ensure they go nowhere any time soon so the city of St. Louis can get some enjoyment after being ratfucked our of their team AND so we can all see exactly why Los-Fuckin-Angeles shouldn't have a team.

What comes first for this franchise:

A. two wins
B. a stabbing on the premises
C. a blackout due to poor attendance

I'm stuck between B & C. May go with C since fisticuffs and a gun related shooting do not count for B. Their 2nd home game is versus the Bills and they very well could be 1-3 by that time. Half empty stadium on Oct. 9th

ESPN's Alden Gonzalez reports contract extensions for Rams coach Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead have yet to be finalized, but are "expected to get done" even after Week 1's debacle.
Nine games away from being the NFL's all-time losingest coach, Fisher suffered his most comprehensive exposure yet in Week 1, where his team was utterly annihilated by a similarly hapless 49ers squad. The game seems to have passed Fisher by, but owner Stan Kroenke has never been that concerned with wins and losses. Kroenke is focusing on monetizing the team as much as possible and tricking out his new stadium. Fisher could seemingly go 0-16 and retain his owner's trust. The rest of the league is just fine with the arrangement.

Poor Gurley will end up with Adrian Peterson syndrome. Be a great RB on a team that consistently goes nowhere. Or maybe worse, a Barry syndrome. (If he continues what he did as a rookie, I don't think he will be as good as either of them).

At the beginning of the year I thought they could win 7 games, maybe it's freaking out, but they only win 3.

From someone who watched Porn 'stache Fisher all of these years here in TN, I just don't get it either. He got incredibly lucky that the Oilers/Titans drafted Air McNair, whose coat tails Fisher rode. No way he'd still be coaching in the league if not for that pick.

This post is for Andy, maybe we should start a Fisher thread. That would be comical.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher is closing in on a dubious NFL record: Most games lost ever by a head coach.
Quote :
After Sunday’s come-from-ahead loss to the Dolphins, Fisher’s career coaching record stands at 173-162-1. He’s now tied with Tom Landry (whose career record was 250-162-6) for second place on the career loss list.
Dan Reeves, whose career coaching record was 190-165-2, owns the all-time record for losses, so Fisher needs to lose just three more games to tie the record and four more games to have the record all to himself. The Rams’ next four games are at New Orleans, at New England, home against the Falcons and at Seattle, so it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Fisher owns the all-time loss record in four weeks.
Although Fisher may own the career loss record, he’s not even in the all-time Top 10 in career wins. And among the 17 coaches who have coached at least 270 career games, Fisher ranks dead last with a .516 winning percentage.
If Fisher does set the career losses record before the season ends, that means the Rams’ record would be, at best, 6-10. Considering that Fisher famously declared before the season that “7-9 bulls–t” would be unacceptable, it’s hard to see how Rams owner Stan Kroenke could justify bringing Fisher back if he goes 6-10 or worse. Setting the career losses record could be Fisher’s final accomplishment as a coach.
