That was the main reason I did the trade. I saw all the players that have been drafted in the 3rd round lately, and I would rather have the pick that Liuget. I don't think losing Liuget is going to hurt me at all.

I think the trade works for both of us, unless you guys think Liuget is one of the top DE you are crazy

New England Nineties gave up:
Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR
Year 2016 Round 3 Draft Pick from New England Nineties
$35.00 in blind bidding

Decatur Freakshow gave up:
Watkins, Sammy BUF WR

Er, should the pick and WB's not have gone the other way?

I think I value them more than just about anyone but it's Thomas on 5 and Watkins on 6? I could see it if it was 2 vs 6 or something like that.

shrug

Oh, weird. When I hover the mouse over the players on the transaction screen, it shows Thomas as 5yrs and Watkins as 6. They must be the DD lengths I guess?

Now I know it's a 1yr deal vs 5 for Watkins, that's a pretty fair trade.

cheers

I admit I was a little nervous for Watkins. Just not sure how soon that situation will get better. He's a stud, but so is DTrain. Wouldn't have done it straight up, but, this works for both I think. Now the issue is what happens to Thomas NEXT year???????

I think its a pretty substantial downgrade for me short-term, but I have Brees, Chandler Jones, and some others expiring next year, I need to roll some contracts over, where possible.

I like Bob's side a lot. Big improvement for this year and with the 3rd rounder and $35 that is close to enough to SFT next year. So real loss for Bob is not being able to SFT someone else... but Bob doesn't have any other player on his roster that looks worth an SFT anyway.

Carter, Bruce DAL LB
Comments:
He is an RFA, not sure if you plan on tagging him as a lot will be after him I am sure. Trade him to me and I will tag him + you get something now... I wont screw around, ill throw 20 WB's your way for a ZERO contract guy, thats the best offer you will get from anyone pumpkin.

Big win for Derrick assuming he wasn't going to tag him. Carter has done nothing to suggest he's worth a tag to this point though the move to Tampa might help.

Ya no way Derrick would have tagged him, he has too many other players to worry about. And tbh I did not want to get in a bidding war with someone for the person I consider the new MLB for the Bucs.

Really can't imagine bidding for Carter exceeding 40WB. I'm not sure anyone would have even bid to 30. But hey, Daddy Warbucks gets to live a life of luxury.

Hey I distinctly remember watching a Roster Wars TV show where the reporter specifically said its tight on the DD side with no team having a large amount of WB's so there is no Daddy WB here buddy!

But I will say this:

1. I will get the guys I want no matter how much WB's it will cost
2. I will try to steal a player again. So please make your Franchise Players good as you will be getting the 1.7 in return!

That's why you get deals done and I don't. You pay for who you want while I'm the cheap SOB wringing his hands and mumbling to himself while rocking back and forth in front of the trade screen.

I guess I'm asking which trade for Colston people prefer.

2018 2nd for Reggie Wayne / Colston

Or

Dion Jordan, $10, and 5.05 for just Colston.

He's right though. You effectively paid a 2nd for 1yr of Colston as Reggie Wayne is never playing again. I know that it's 2018 but it's still a 2nd.

A 5th and 10WB's is way less than a 2nd. Dion Jordan has some breakout potential but I'm okay with moving him with only 1yr on his contract.

I think Colston will be okay this year IF they don't trade Brees. I don't get the rumour that everyone is up for trade bar Brees and Cooks. Brees has a huge contract and is in his late 30's so why would they keep him if blowing it up?

You may well be right but no fucking way are you putting him in your line-up at any point.

The reason it was a bad trade for me, in my mind, is that I paid a 2nd for help in a position I didn't need any help with.

Hopkins, A.J. Green, Dez Bryant, Golden Tate, Victor Cruz, and Torrey Smith.

I can only start 5 and there's 6 better than those two guys. Colston and Wayne do absolutely nothing for me.

It was a bad trade.

You got a nice gaggle of receivers there. vote yes

Colston might get some spot starts for you but you are right, not worth a 2nd bearing your roster in mind.

It's far and away my strongest position. That and DE. (I like JPP, Liuget, and Hardy.) If I was trading it for a Frank Gore and a Forsett on a one year deal or something, that would make sense for me, since my RB situation is ass.

All trades are fun. It was a quickie though. I'd much rather be trade talking - even for roster depth - than pretty much anything else you can do on the internet.

I have a feeling Eric may be posting a picture here shortly...

I'd almost take that bet. Rumors are he understands where the Colts were and will retire. Doesn't feel right wearing another uniform.

It's just local rumors though.

Do or die year for Ball. He's young enough I'll take a chance on him to add some RB depth. I wasn't a huge fan of Ball coming out of college, I thought he was a little overrated but I think he can still be successful with Denver

It was said that extended and SFT players can be traded once it had been declared since it can't be changed and there's no matching involved.
