I am not saying Little Shanny didnt need to get out of the Browns organization but the guy doesnt grow roots with any team. He is like the new guy at work that does a job we need done but has worked at 4 jobs in the past 3 years and we know he wont be staying long with us and we will be filling his position again.

Quote :
At a time when the franchise is bracing for potentially significant penalties for violating the rules regarding in-game electronic communications, the Browns have jammed their way through a loophole that allows their technically-not-hired-yet quarterbacks coach to work with one of the top quarterback prospects in the draft — at a time when none of the other teams can even talk to him.

As noted earlier by Gantt, future Browns quarterbacks coach Kevin O’Connell currently is working with quarterback Marcus Mariota. Since the Browns haven’t officially hired O’Connell yet, the eventual employee can do things that he couldn’t do if he weren’t currently an employee.

“So let me get this straight,” a high-level executive with another team told PFT on Wednesday morning. “The Browns can have their quarterbacks coach in waiting work with a player, teach him the entire offense, etc., but we can’t even talk to any potential draft pick until the Combine per league rules? Something is wrong here.”

While the Browns have yet to publicly acknowledge that O’Connell will be getting the job, it has been widely reported that O’Connell will be getting the job. NFL Media, partially owned by the Browns, has reported that the Browns will hire O’Connell — and the Browns have never refuted it.

Even if the league looks the other way on this one, the know-it-when-you-see-it decision of the Browns to brazenly flaunt the rules won’t do much to encourage lenience when the time comes to drop the hammer over the brazen flaunting of the rules that resulted in G.M. Ray Farmer, either acting alone or at the behest of those above him (bet the over), to send text messages to the coaching staff during games.

These fucking guys.

Browns
Browns To Unveil New Logo Next Week
By DARYL RUITER, 92.3 The Fan
INDIANAPOLIS (92.3 The Fan) – Out with the old, and in with the new.
The Cleveland Browns will unveil a new primary team logo next week.
In an email letter sent to Browns Backers presidents and obtained by 92.3 The Fan, the team says it will be “launched” on Tuesday, February 24.
The new logo will replace the orange helmet currently in use by the team as the primary logo.
While the logo itself is being closely guarded prior to the reveal, multiple sources have told 92.3 The Fan that the new logo will not incorporate the iconic ‘Brownie’ elf logo that was used by the franchise in the 1950’s and 1960’s in any way.
In keeping with a promise made to former owner Randy Lerner as a condition of sale in 2012, the new logo will not adorn the helmet.
The Browns are rolling out an entire new brand this year to include logos, script word markings, modified helmet and uniforms. The new uniform designs, which will be comprised of 3 different jerseys and 2 pairs of pants will be unveiled closer to the NFL Draft in late March or early April.

that's funny.

Although, I will say if I was a Browns fan, I wouldn't want the logo etc, to differ drastically. It's a pretty recognized brand and I'm glad it's pretty constant.

This is something that happened with the lie-downs a few years back... they basically just outlined the lion with a sharpie ot make it "jump off the page" lol. But if they had gone crazy to appeal to the younger Beatnik (no pun intended) crowd, I'd probably have been pretty upset.

Free agent Josh McCown is visiting the Browns on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Not including McCown's Combine meet ups with the Bears and Jets, it's his second visit after spending time in Buffalo last week. McCown is drawing looks from every team with a quarterback issue, though even in Cleveland he wouldn't be guaranteed the starting job. Signing McCown would mean the Browns are moving on from Brian Hoyer.

It doesn't but if a player has been released / cut they can go whenever they want I believe.

Yes, the key here is if a player is coming off an expiring contract (free in March to talk to all teams) or a player was released cut ( free to talk to all teams that day).

Designing a new NFL logo in 2009 to appeal to a 1950's sub culture? Yeah, I should hope not.

So they trade their punter, Andy Lee, to the Panthers for a 4th.

Then Andy Lee says:

Quote :
Punter Andy Lee: Trade to Panthers is 'biggest blessing from God I ever had'

Although if you read the full transcript it's about more than getting away from the Browns.

Quote :
But that's only a small reason the move is good news for Lee. He has come to a city where his wife and two sons, Ryan (6) and Adam (4), already were living during the season. It's also a city where he lost his daughter Madelyn a year and a half ago, eight days after she was born at a hospital 2.5 miles from Bank of America Stadium, the Panthers' home in Charlotte. That loss inspired to the Lee family to start Madelyn's Fund, whose purpose is to help other families that have lost a child.

"Honestly, being here is the biggest blessing from God I ever had," Lee said Tuesday after his first practice with Carolina. "I'm with my family again. I'm with my wife. I'm with my kids. We're starting this fund. We're still grieving from that a year and a half ago over the loss of our daughter.

"It's just awesome to be with them and not having to be apart from them."

It's becoming an epidemic to where the CDC needs to be involved.  Kessler down with an injury early in the game (shoulder) and then backup Charlie Whitehurst hyper extends his knee or something the 4th.  Terrelle Pryor now called into duty to finish out the game.  I think he's in fear for his life (or health).  shrug laughing

If someone made a TV show about the Browns season you'd have people calling it completely unrealistic with the number of injuries to QB's they've had.
