The Philadelphia Inquirer expects free agent CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to command "big money," and considers him a candidate for the franchise tag. Analysis: Long and lean at 6-foot-2, 182 pounds, DRC is also very durable and still two months shy of his 27th birthday. He's one of the league's better ball-hawkers. All that should translate to a big payday despite his inconsistent play. DRC would be due roughly $10.7 million under the franchise tag. The Sideline View's Adam Caplan "would be surprised" DRC is back in Philadelphia.

I was pissed when Philly picked him up.  Would love to see him out of the NFC East.

We won't pay him the money he demands. He plays too soft in my opinion, good cover corner though

He is also a very good special teams player. I'd keep him and let Nnamdi go personally.

Im almost embarrassed to say that I was excited when we signed him. I dont know if I've lost complete hope in him yet though.

Denver Broncos CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to have his contract voided Friday, Feb. 7. Rodgers-Cromartie will become a free agent.

So where does he go from here?

A source tells ProFootballTalk that free agent CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie turned down a six-year, $54 million offer from the Broncos. Analysis: The offer was made prior to the Broncos reached out to Darrelle Revis and Aqib Talib. Now Rodgers-Cromartie is the odd man out in a game of musical chairs. He's the best corner remaining on the market, but teams may be turned off by his retirement talk during Super Bowl week. DRC should've jumped on that Broncos offer

Fucking moron.

Why would you turn down that offer exactly?

Giants signed him and I'm sure it wasn't for that much money.

Rodgers-Cromartie has signed a five-year contract with the Giants worth $35 million, the New York Daily News reports. Analysis: Rodgers-Cromartie -- who recorded 31 tackles and three interceptions for the Broncos in 2013 -- will start at cornerback opposite Prince Amukamara in the Giants' revamped secondary, which also recently added Walter Thurmond. Now that they have missed out on adding Rodgers-Cromartie, the Jets could well turn their attention to bringing back Antonio Cromartie.

Turns down 53m from the Broncos and then has to take 35m from the Giants. Not often that one person can lose that much money so quickly.

Wow, how the hell do you lose that much money and that much hope for a Super Bowl based on your own personal decision making?
