Rams waived/injured WR Danario Alexander. Analysis: Alexander will revert to injured reserve if he goes unclaimed on waivers. The 6-foot-5, 217-pound third-year pro is long on talent, but even longer on injuries, and had been sidelined the majority of camp by a hamstring ailment. "DX" has been productive in 18 career games, snagging 46 passes for 737 yards and three touchdowns, but has rarely been able to practice. DX's size and athleticism could keep him on the NFL radar, but his career is just about through if he can't get and stay healthy in the very near future.
Oh well... I imagine some team to take the gamble on this guy and pick him up.  If only he could stay healthy.

he had the skills just a liability and ties up a spot on a 53 man roster. So much talent out there now that it is hard to see someone take a gamble on him now.

I liked his upside in his rookie year but injuries are just plaguing him everywhere

The San Diego Chargers are expected to re-sign restricted free-agent WR Danario Alexander this offseason and give him a bigger opportunity on offense next season.

A ton of potential here. Rivers might actually be a decent buy low.

Well... that didn't take long.

Chargers receiver Danario Alexander injured his right knee in practice, according to beat writer Michael Gehlken.
Analysis: The knee was iced and wrapped, but he stayed on the sidelines. Keeping healthy is Alexander's No. 1 problem and the only good news here is that it wasn't the left knee which has already dealt with five surgeries. He's never played more than 10 games in a season.

San Diego coach Mike McCoy described Alexander's right knee injury from Tuesday as a "ding," San Diego Union-Tribune writer Michael Gehlken reports.
Analysis: The injury was written off as nothing serious, so for now it seems safe to assume Alexander won't miss much time. The ailment is not at all related to Alexander's past knee issues, which were located in the left knee.

This is one of those situations in life where a joke isn't even necessary. If it were, it'd be something about how this guy was just traded for a 1st + 2nd round pick...something...something...

Yikes, poor guy can't catch a break... Sounds like it the other knee (not the one that has already had 5 surgeries)... I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing honestly... At this point you have to wonder is Alexander may have played his last down in the NFL...

I don't think he retires because of an ACL. I do think he's done as a starter in the NFL and thus in fantasy.

Not necessarily saying he will retire, but I am skeptical whether another team takes another chance on him after this one...

Chargers waived/injured WR Danario Alexander. Analysis: Alexander tore his right ACL on August 6 and had reconstructive surgery on August 15. The quickness with which the procedure was performed suggests DX's ACL tear was clean and affected no other ligaments. It will be interesting to see whether any team takes a flier on him via the waiver process. To do so, they'd have to pay Alexander's full $1.323 million salary for a lost year. Alexander is a free agent in 2014, so we suspect he won't be claimed.
Well you can drop him penalty free now!

Danario Alexander devoted months to knee rehab, working to return from an August injury as soon as possible. It won't happen as soon as first hoped. The Chargers wide receiver recently underwent additional surgery to repair the right knee injury that ended his 2013 season, sources said.
Analysis: The follow up procedure done in January makes Alexander questionable for training camp. He's scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March. Alexander has now had two operations on his right knee and five operations on his left. It's safe to say that his career in the NFL is on shaky ground.

Odds on a comeback?

I agree. His knees must look nasty. Someone will invite him to camp at some point, but he will never get a guaranteed contract.

A source tells FOX Sports that free agent Danario Alexander is dealing with major complications from his latest knee surgery. Analysis: Alexander initially underwent an ACL repair on his right knee back in August and then needed a second "revision" surgery in January. Now he's had even more surgeries because of an infection, leaving his ability to play in 2014 in major doubt. Alexander's left knee was already in questionable shape due to five earlier surgeries. Although he's just 25 years old, his career is in jeopardy

Poor bastard.

I wonder if the numerous fuckers that argued with me about this guy will acknowledge that I was right and he will never get where they said he would.

Yeah, anybody who questioned his talent is just blind... but there were just too many red flags with his health to count on him.
