Can already hear Al and Chris hyping him Sunday Night...Laughing

Are you saying he broke his hand for publicity or he is faking it? Both are laughable.

As if he wasn't dangerous enough now he's taking snaps as a QB on offense

Who would have known he would be a better option than a real QB.

Soon there will be another coach on the unemployment line. O'Brien has the "look" in his face and eyes of a bewildered deer on an interstate.

Get J.J. hurt running the "O" or in the Houston case "o" and see how long you hold a job for genius.

ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports J.J. Watt had "five partially or fully torn muscles in his core area" by the end of last season, and required surgery on "both sides of his body."

It was a painful year for Watt, who also broke his hand and played through a herniated disk in his back as he nevertheless again won Defensive Player of the Year honors. The indestructible defensive lineman turned 27 earlier this month.

Dude is a tough bastard.

Yes,  Watt is a tough guy,   but he is also not too bright...   That kind of wear and tear when you are already injured is sure to cut his career shorter than it would have been,  the only question is by how  much?   It is also very likely to leave him with several cronic ailments in his later life...  Tough guy now,   cripplied guy later...

Then he will sue the NFL just like all the DB's now.

J.J. Watt said Wednesday that he'll only play in the NFL for as long as he's one of the best players in the game.
Watt said he won't be one of those players that tries to hang on as long as possible, whether it's chasing a ring or a paycheck. He just turned 27 last month and is coming off major abdominal surgery after tearing five core muscles during an injury-riddled 2015 season, though he still didn't miss a game. Watt is five years into his career and has won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, but he may be closer to the end than the beginning

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports J.J. Watt's back surgery occurred Wednesday, and comes with a 6-8 week recovery timeline.
In other words, he's questionable for Week 1. Initial reports had the Texans "hoping" he would be ready for the opener. It's certainly still possible, but a multi-game absence can't yet be ruled out. Watt obviously won't suit up for the preseason. His timetable should clarify as camp progresses. Jul 21 - 9:57 PM

Not sure why nobody else has already posted this... but looks like JJ is a little banged up and questionable for the start of the season...

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if they know that timetable, why wait until so late in the offseason? Why not do it right after the season so he can definitely be ready?

I heard it was a very recent injury. shrug

I hope the injury bug doesn't hit my team so early again this season.

Watt isn't human. He will be at full strength in 5 weeks.

Yeah, I read that it was only very recently that he found out he needed the surgery, so he went ahead and took care of it.

Watt is a beast and will probably bounce back, but you always have to wonder with a guy like that who pushes himself and plays so hard and plays through lesser injuries, at some point he is going to start breaking down...

Dynasty Twitter had some rumblings that 6-8 weeks was an optimistic timetable...could be more like 10.

On mobile, so cant pull up the tweets/evidence, but when I find them I will post.

He will be ready week 1. Obviously huge for the Texans and fantasy.

Quote :
J.J. Watt To Play Week 1 - This is great news for the Houston Texans. Watt is the anchor of their defense and would be missed if he sat out at any point of the season. Houston's D/ST should be considered an every-week starter in the upcoming fantasy football campaign that could finish the year in the top 10 in scoring as they did in 2015.

It was pretty obvious he wasn't fully healthy, he had no business playing 3-4 weeks ahead of when he should have been... going too hard too fast often leads to re-injury and often leads to making the injury worse...

To IR...

Quote :
Texans placed DE J.J. Watt on injured reserve with a back injury.
The Texans are still trying to figure out the exact nature of Watt's latest back issue, but it's believed to be a herniated disk. It's the same injury he had surgery for in the offseason. Most believe he will miss the remainder of the season and won't be ready in time to be the Texans' designated-for-return player. It's a massive loss. Devon Still and Antonio Smith are Watt's backups.

JJ Watt will never be the same. His days of greatness are over. Back issues never go away. You can have disc surgery but the surgery always puts pressure on a different disc. I loved watching him play, but there is no way he regains his old form.

Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt (back) told the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson he feels "fantastic" after undergoing a pair of microdiscectomy surgeries last season to repair the same herniated disk in his back. "I've done more core work in the past eight months than I think just about anybody in the world. My core is about as tight and locked in as it can get at the moment," Watt said.

Really hope to see him dominating again!

I remember when I had Watt. I am hoping all those draft picks that I have this year and last year pays off for me. Houston defense could be really good this year.

In other news, I have order a "My IR squad can kick your IR squad's ass" bumper sticker.

Leave it to JJ to make me feel better about my knee injury. I can't even imagine dealing with what he is dealing with...then again the millions of dollars he has would cushion the blow some.

That injury to Watt sounds serious, he basically broke the top of the tibia (the round ball) just below the knee.  That has really got to smart and I wonder if he can resume playing at all.  One would think it will have an effect on the knee joint, ligaments, etc...

tibial plateau fracture

Not if he is below average. Not enough yet after only playing 5 full seasons. But I guess he has 2 DPOY awards. Ugh, not sure. Let's hope this is a moot point and he comes back. Would be a shame.
