Hey is anybody doing the healthy resolutions / dry January etc. this year?

I wasn't going to and I haven't started yet, but went on the scales this morning and realised I have put on 1 1/4 stone (17 lbs) since this time last year. I guess having a new baby & trying to get my business going I just took my eye off the ball.

So I decided today I am going on a health & fitness kick.

No drinking for a month and getting back to the gym.

I might put the odd progress report on here, just to keep me honest.

The wife decided we’re doing Paleo. Not real sure what that even means but she said I have to cook my own meals if I don’t want to do it so...I’m paleo now. LOL

We did whole 30 late last summer and that sucked.

Yup I also have 10-15 to drop
Once it warms up will get back into some regular exercise
If only I could cut out the sugar treats my actual meals are super healthy

Paleo is basically whole30 permanently altho you can have some natural sweeteners like honey and probably dairy too

I’ve eaten wings 4 times in 2018. Going to be a great year.

I have resolved to work more on my mobility training. It is something I have always neglected but as I age I think it is something important that I need to keep up on to stay injury free.

Fuck I lost weight in the first year of my son, maybe its chasing my little guy around (14 Months), maybe its the no sleep thing, and I gave up a shit load of sugars.   I'd actually like some sleep and meat, I'd gladly take the weight back.

Shit I hope he gets some sleep man. I have to admit we have been pretty lucky, she is a really good sleeper - but we have the odd night where she hasn't slept and it is really hard. Can't imagine that being the norm!

It's hard because I don't get home until 5.20pm and the baby goes to sleep at 7pm. So I've only got 90 mins with her every day and by the time she is down you want to eat and then you can't be bothered training after 8pm.

So I am getting up 30 minutes earlier now and doing a run or whatever every morning. Hope I can keep it up. Was hard this morning, but just got to get in the routine.

Yeah it is hard getting up and training when it is cold and dark out. Good luck when you start man.

Sugar isn't my vice I don' really eat chocolate or anything. I drink a lot of beer and can be lazy with fast food. But if I cut the beer out I normally make better food choices anyway, I always found the two are linked.

You sir are my hero. I too suffer from a wife that likes to be trendy with how she eats. Paleo, whole 30, now its a Vegan thing. Good Lord when you are a meat eater and your wife wants to go Vegan evil the Devil feels bad for you. The struggle is real.

And I am writing this as I am up, been up since 3 cause I have 13 pounds of pork butt on the smoker. I am doing a lot more cooking for others now that I figured it could be my excuse to still put meat in my life.
