Too young to remember the XFL, but I do know this.

I would definitely watch if it made a comeback.

I remember it was a league with no fair catches.  That's why I wanted to tune in to see punt returners get blasted because they couldn't call a fair catch.  No lasting impressions on if it happened or not. laughing

Also before my time. I would be all for another league to fill the football void during the NFL off-season though!

Maybe it could work if they try to make it a legitimate developmental league during the NFL off-season with similar rules to the NFL.  Also read that there is chatter they might be trying to make it an alternate route to the NFL for college talent needing to have to be out of high school 3 years to become NFL draft eligible....

An amateur Minor league would be awesome!  Seriously, fuck the NCAA.  Maybe if the NCAA had some competition they would not be able to treat their athletes like slaves.

if my alzheimer's is correct, the World League of American Football or NFL Europe League or NFL Europa was designed to be a developmental or "minor" league to the NFL which unfortunately had little to no fan support.

the XFL however was not in any way associated with the NFL. it was a shitshow.

I remember the first game was really promoted alot. After the first game, everyone realized the quality wasn't very good. No fan support whatsoever.

I actually had season tickets for the NY/NJ Hitmen.  My first set of tickets was literally behind a set of speakers.  After complaining they gave me 4 seats on the 50 yard line, 6 rows from the field.  It was a great chance to see a lot of the players close up.  The main issue was that the games were in February and March so it was always in the teens or 20s when games were played.  And all were played at night and, for some reason, Giants Stadium didn't allow beer to be served at night XFL games.

At the end I could even give away tickets to games that I didn't go to.  Actually, it's the same way with my Jets tickets now.
