I don't know man, I think this will change soon. I listed a few of the players that they need:

1. Quarterback
2. Running Back
3. Wide Receiver
4. Another Wide Receiver
5. Drug Free Tight End
6. Defense
7. More Defense
8. Lots more Defense

On second thought... you're right

It is certainly depressing... But I think a QB will cover some of the other holes. I really want RG3, but I know if the Browns want him they can outbid us pretty easily.

Man it's not even the Super Bowl and I'm ready for the draft. But the teams left aren't very exciting to me.

True... but if the Skins give that new LA team a call they could sneakily squeeze into the 3 spot ahead of the Browns, especially if the Rams draft Matt Kalil.

Yeah but if I'm the Rams I see Kalil and Blackmon as legitimate options in the draft. If Cleveland comes a calling for RG3, then I can still get one of them at 4, plus pick up another first rounder in the process.

But hopefully CLE decides to ride out McCoy a little longer and give him some weapons.

Screw that. They are freaking terrible from Front Office to jockstrap washer.

Haha yeah its definitely been a rough stretch. Losing Taylor set the defense back quite a bit, and well, so did having Snyder and Cerrato running the show.

But my dumb ass still gets hooked every season bang head on wall

Fletcher is a beast though. Ageless wonder

I doubt he actually picks at 6. I think they'll either move up for a QB, or if the Browns get him ahead of them then I can see them trying to find a later pick interested in trading up to stockpile more picks like last year. I hope that they can make a move for RG3, or I guess Luck if the Colts end up going with RG3, but like I said earlier, the Browns definitely have more ammo with the 2 first rounders. My ideal offseason though would be trading up with either the Rams or Vikings for RG3 and picking up a big WR in FA.

Oh, and having our few good players not failing drug tests would help too 👎

http://nfltraderumors.co/redskins-complete-trade-with-rams-for-2-overall-pick/

Quote :
Jay Glazer is reporting that the Washington Redskins have just agreed to a deal with the St Louis Ram for the rights #2 overall pick. Glazer mentions that the Rams will receive Washington’s #6 along with two future first-round picks and some additional picks on top of that.

Mike Florio mentions that one of the additional draft picks is believed to be a second-round pick. Florio adds that the deal cannot be completed until the league year starts on Tuesday.

There’s not doubt that this was a move made out of desperation after they wound up losing out on the Peyton Manning.

The entire quarterback could be sped up in the next few days now that the Redskins are out of the picture and Manning is expected to sign in the next few days. If Manning ends up passing on the Dolphins, Matt Flynn could be a great position to secure a decent contract from either Miami or Cleveland.

Well, there it is!

3 number 1's and more TBD picks FOR #2 overall.

That's a pretty healthy price.

Using mid round values on the other 2 numbers 1's the Redskins traded 3600 to 3800 of NFL Draft Value Index points for 2600 points. According to my calculations.

If RGIII pans then who cares. If he doesn't it is so long Shanny.

Hard for a QB to pan out with no talent around him. Crippled the franchise for years unless he's as good as, or better than, Cam.

Wow. It's a lot but I'm crazy excited still. Finally getting hopefully a franchise QB. I also think it will make DC more appealing to a big FA WR, now that it happened before the draft

I admire the move. It's a lot to pay but someone was going to. And Matt is right, doing it early might tempt a big name WR to join the fun.

clap

Haven't looked to see what their cap space is, but if they can get someone, they become an interesting team to watch. Still a little surprised Royster wasn't included. It will also be interesting to see if the Rams take a RB with one of those 1st's.

They have a ton of cap space. I think I saw somewhere it was around 50 million. I actually think part of the reason is that the Rams are up against the cap, so players weren't as appealing to them, but this is just what i read through my skins stuff.

Basically yes WAS big space, Rams close to cap

So, will it be Colston Wallace or Jackson. I think Wallace will resign with Pittsburgh, but didn't realize they had cap issues, so maybe not. So if I had to guess, I would say it will be Jackson.

Wallace would cost a 1st round pick which, obviously, the Redskins would not give up for him. Laughing

Jackson seems like a possibility.

And Morgan?

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Redskins are "on the verge" of signing free agent WR Josh Morgan.
It's expected to be a two-year deal. Like Pierre Garcon, Morgan is one of the league's most effective per-play receivers after the catch. The Redskins are looking to maximize Robert Griffin III's downfield playmaking ability. Santana Moss could move to the slot with Garcon and Morgan both in town.

Scout.com reports "several" teams are pursuing free agent WR Eddie Royal in addition to the Redskins, including the Ravens.
Reports of Royal signing a two-year, $12 million deal with the Redskins turned out to be inaccurate, though it appears they are still in the hunt for his services. Royal saw his numbers fall off dramatically after Tim Tebow took over at quarterback for the Broncos last season, but has a history of success both in the slot and on special teams.

Hope for Moss / Hankerson?

It does raise the interesting question of who the last FA WR was to sign for big money with a new team and actually produce on the field (FA not trade)
Going back over the last few years - some of these could still turn good
S Rice - X
S Holmes - X
Housh - X
N Washington - sorta
B Berrian - ok for a bit

Harder to find easy lists of FA signings earlier than 2009. Maybe I'll add to the list if I find a good resource
Was it TO?

I actually think their defense is pretty good. They overpaid for Garcon, but they've upgrade their WR's, and they still have the TE's. They could make some noise next year if RGIII is the real deal.

It's true I feel like it's hard to gauge the defense considering they were on the field way more because of our embarrassment of an offense. My big concern right now is that they're still having issues resigning fletcher. But I agree if rg3 is as good as we hope I think the rest of our o is good enough for the skins to compete in the division

Adding to the teams’ frustration, we’re told, is that the deal to take away the cap money was brokered between NFLPA executive DeMaurice Smith and the NFL Management Council Executive Committee, without a full vote of NFLPA leadership or NFL ownership. The chairman of the CEC is Giants owner John Mara, whose team benefits directly from the removal of cap room from two of his chief division rivals.

After reading that part.....they should go ballistic. No way, at least on the surface, does this sound right or fair.

And I hate the Cowboys almost as much as the Jets.

Tebow the Sequel

Redskins:
The best thing about having already traded away your next three No. 1 picks and incurred severe salary cap penalties is that it becomes almost impossible to do anything else impetuous and foolish.
