No. 64 pick Dwayne Allen was running as the Colts' first-team tight end in minicamp on Tuesday. Analysis: No. 34 pick Coby Fleener was running with the second team. It's actually not surprising, as Allen is a much more accomplished blocker than Fleener. Allen could possibly see more snaps as a rookie, but Fleener will definitely see more targets. Fleener is the Colts tight end to own, and the No. 18 tight end in Rotoworld's initial rankings.

Colts signed RB Mewelde Moore and waived QB David Legree.

Purely a passing-down specialist entering his age-30 season, Moore averaged an impressive 7.1 yards on 22 carries and 9.5 yards on 11 catches under new Colts OC Bruce Arians in Pittsburgh last year. The signing suggests Arians is not convinced Donald Brown can handle pass-protection duties on third downs. Legree was undrafted out of Hampton University.

Puts a little dent into Donald Brown's value

The Colts are giving Austin Collie a legitimate chance to secure the outside receiver job opposite Reggie Wayne in training camp. Analysis: Collie is already locked in as Indy's slot receiver, but he's getting a long look as the first-team flanker. "Before I was more like the security blanket," Collie explained. "Now I am going to focus on being able to make the big play down the field." Emerging as an every-down receiver would be a big help to Collie's fantasy value. He'll have to beat out Donnie Avery and rookie LaVon Brazill.

If Luck takes off Collie could be a great cheap pickup.

Never been a believer in Collie...he came in and did well like many new players do but as soon as defenses key on em...its over and he will be back on the sideline probably with a concussion.

I don't disagree that he's injury prone but just saying that at his current price (next to nothing) he might be worth a stash.

It was hysterical, all over the local news.....course, now, everyone is gonna show up and try to get a free jersey.

and....FWIW, Collie fit well in the system, Blair White did too. System has changed, not a big believer in even stashing Collie. Saw too many things, he is way too injury prone. Don't get me wrong, love the guys heart, just don't believe he will be real valuable.

OK, 1 hour till kickoff.

My 5 things to watch for:

1: The Luck era begins, in what fashion?
2: Brown, Carter, Ballard, who emerges? Brown's job to lose, but will Ballard push him?
3: TE's, what do we really have here?
4: O Line, will Luck survive?
5: D, will it just be the same old thing?

1st half observations:

1: Luck: Just lights out.

2: Brown gets a TD, nice run on the screen, but Ballard was impressive with his 3 touches.

3: TE's and WR's: Hilton looked good, Collie too, some dropped passes though.

4: O Line looked bad. That will need fixed, or Luck will be on IR.

5: Not bad, I have to get used to the new scheme.

Luck was fantastic - very impressive. But you are roght about the O Line - they need to improve there...

Plenty of promise in the receiving core too - a pretty exciting game for Colts fans I'd imagine.

We will hear a lot of blame on the Officials, they missed a couple blatant calls.

Colts are doing better than I expected. And yes the defense is still bad but Colts only drafted 2 defensive players this year and in the 5th and 7th rounds so it is hard to expect much more.

9:55AM EST October 1. 2012 - Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with a "serious'' illness, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, and will miss Sunday's game against Green Bay and likely several more games.

The illness is leukemia, according to ESPN.com, and considered "very treatable." The report said Pagano is in isolation at an Indianapolis hospital and will be hospitalized for about six weeks.

Pagano had been feeling unusual fatigue in recent weeks and got blood tests during the bye week.

The Colts will have a press conference this morning, at which time they will introduce Pagano's doctor and offer more specifics on his illness.

One top organization official acknowledged it's serious, but added "we're very optimistic about his recovery."During Pagano's absence, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will take over as the team's head coach.

I hope he's alright...

The Colts are slowly proving me wrong. I was definitely against the picking of Luck. I thought for sure they should have traded the pick away and stuck with Manning. They could have gotten so much for that draft pick but so far, Luck has been as advertised. I'm pretty shocked.

I loved the move to stick with Luck personally. Manning has a few years left and, personally, I don't think the Colts are in a position to win a Superbowl in the next few years. They made the right call in blowing it up and rebuilding. They need a true #1 WR for Luck (as Wayne's years are numbered and Collie is going to go the way of Best.) If they can get that and some better defensive weapons they'll be tough to beat.

I didn't like it at first either, but now, I love it. I actually think, WR wise, they're are a couple on this team that will be very very good. Not this year, maybe not next, but by 2014, oh yeah. Wayne will give them probably 1 more year. I hope that's all we need. See what they do in the draft. They are now loaded with very young offensive potential. They have to fix that defense.

I like the potential in Brazil and Hilton but I'm saying they need a legit #1. I'm talking a Julio/Green/Nicks/Dez/Britt/Wallace/Fitz/Mega/Jennings/etc. (I know some of you guys will say that some of those names aren't legit #1 WR's but when I think of the best WR on the team that's who I think of.)

It's crazy, it is going to be Deja Vu. Peyton had Marvin Harrison to learn with, then they drafted Reggie Wayne and he was throwing to Wayne his entire career. Now Wayne is the one breaking in Luck, they'll play together for a few more years, the Colts will draft some stud WR and the cycle continues. Seriously, fuck the Colts and fuck the Packers. The packers get to go from Favre to Aaron Rodgers... when all is said and done, that's going to be like 30 straight years of high end QB play... and then the Colts get to go from Manning to Luck. I know he is still a kid but he really looks the part.

Remember though, the Colts were smart and passed on Leaf. Have to give some credit there. Had they drafted him, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The D has actually been playing pretty well the last few weeks without Angerer and Davis, granted the offenses they faced aren't great. Grigson seems be about 100x better at evaluating talent compared to the Pollian's the last few years who basically drafted bust after bust.

So, can we go into Foxboro and put them on the ground?

I actually think the Colts can win this game. They will need to hold Gronk in check, but that Patriot defense is soft. This will end up being a great game I think.

Win this, Playoffs baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May make it even losing here. How sweet it is.

Actually I'm pissed. It's 12:34PM here, I'm at work, I've been successfully checking fantasy scores while avoiding knowing anything about the Patriots game all day as I was going to watch it when I got home. Then I brain-farted and opened up my NFL app on my phone to check the Ravens' game, and got blasted in the face with the Patriots/Colts score.

Not happy. Looks like it was a close game for awhile. I'll still watch it when I get home, but basically I need to move back to the US.
