As the Minor League folks prepare for their upcoming draft, thought it would be fun to review the original draft when the league formed 5 years ago -

http://www57.myfantasyleague.com/2012/options?L=77011&O=03&TYPE=AUCTION_WON&FRANCHISE=0000&DAYS=3000

Interesting to see how positions were valued.  Looks like Rob's strategy of blowing his entire wad on a handful of players explains why he's perennially mired in pink.

Should also be good for a few laughs.

Am I reading this correctly that the first two completed auctions were for PKs and that Alex Henery went for $14?

Anyway, I'll keep my mouth shut outside of this because if anyone ever goes and drags up one of my drafts from five years ago, I am some of the "bad" decisions from this draft will still look great compared to decisions I made.

Thanks for this. It may as well be a lifetime ago for fantasy football but it's still interesting to see.

Jon is the one who is the most well versed on the value of kickers.

Really shows how short the life expectancy is of top guys with the high bids some guys received just 5 years ago. Many either aren't in the league anymore or are pretty much irrelevant.

Maybe not the best opening strategy, but overall I think things have worked out alright for you.

I like to look at my first acquisition of Luke Kuechly for $44 and then close the tab feeling like a success without burdening myself with what followed.

My big regret was winning Schuab as my QB3 for the fact that I was really trying to drive the cost up and got stuck. I remember thinking that I was going to go for Tannehill or Bradford....Oh well.

Other than Megatrons retirement my core of drafted guys is still strong considering its been 5 years -

A Rodgers
E Berry
D Martin
P Posluszny
M Barron
L Miller

Never would have guessed that Dave would still have so many members of his original auction. Even retired members. Once you're a Bomber, you're a bomber for life!

I cannot even believe how bad my initial auction was. Every risk I took ended up being absolute hot garbage. I was really lucky I was able to trade my way to a decent team.

Bobby Wagner for $8? I rock!

Jake Locker for $36? I suck!

Christ, it's a scary list when you just look at your own auction.

sick

And Lamar Miller for $4, heck I'm stocking up at that price.

Foster had a couple of decent years after 2012, IIRC.

Just highlighting the cost differential between the two conferences.

Gotcha. All it takes is 2 people willing to go the distance.

I sucked. I cringe at what I did all those years ago and thank the fantasy gods I have more patience. I was totally used to 12 and 18 hour auctions. I was surprised my team made the playoffs in year one with the poor group I put on the field.

A positive. I totally killed the RW redraft. Gosh if if had that team right now it would have been the best one if I ever created. Looking forward to the same success in the minors.

Very interesting how Jimmy Graham went for half the price in the other league on the same day.
