Blount's Buccaneers roster spot is uncertain at this time, according to NFL.com .

Analysis: One of the reasons why the Buccaneers invested a first-round draft pick in RB Doug Martin, and a seventh-round selection in potential No. 2 back Michael Smith, could be Blount's lack of commitment. Blount racked up $15,000 in fines for tardiness in his first two weeks in Tampa back in 2010 and has been caught sleeping in team meetings since then. Add to that his drop-off in play in 2011 (781 yards, 4.2 ypc, five touchdowns) from 2010 (1,007 yards, 5.0 ypc, six touchdowns), a new more disciplined coaching regime and persistent fumbling problems, Blount could be looking for a new team in 2012.

While I seriously doubt that he gets cut I do feel he'll be riding the pine most of 2012/13.

Buccaneers halfback LeGarrette Blount was carted off the field after suffering a left knee injury Friday night in Tampa Bay's preseason game versus Tennessee.

Analysis: Blount was seen on the sidelines without ice or a knee brace following the injury, which is a good sign. We should know more about the extent of Blount's injury after the game. He finished the evening with 11 yards on eight carries.

It wasn't his knee, it was his peepee (groin).

Correct Stlyes!

Quote :
Bucs coach Greg Schiano told reporters following Friday night's preseason game that LeGarrette Blount suffered a groin injury against the Titans. Analysis: Everyone covering the game was under the impression Blount injured his left knee at the end of a second-quarter run. He was holding the knee on the field and limping around the sideline afterwards. Regardless, Blount's injury was not serious, according to Schiano, and it appears he'll emerge with a day-to-day ailment. Still significantly outplayed by rookie Doug Martin on Friday night, Blount's role is probably only going to decline from here on out.

I really don't expect them just to throw this guy away and go with Martin. I like the Martin potential, but rookie RB's normally disappoint. Where is the Richardson thread.......hmmm

Coach Greg Schiano said he isn't sure exactly what happened to LeGarrette Blount on Sunday. Analysis: Blount briefly went down with an apparent leg injury during the second quarter Sunday and never returned. Schiano emphasized that Blount could have gone back in the game. "I don't know if we're all certain on what's ailing LeGarrette," he said. "He came out of the game and we thought it was his leg. We're not sure. ... I think he's okay." Blount likely has a bruised ego as a result of meager playing time.

Wow what a bitch. I really think he was just throwing a hissy fit.

"Several" league executives tell CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora that they would not be surprised if LeGarrette Blount were shipped out of Tampa Bay prior to Tuesday's 4PM ET trade deadline. Analysis: The same execs named Rams WR Steve Smith, Browns QB Colt McCoy, and Dolphins QB Matt Moore as trade candidates, although the latter is much less likely with Ryan Tannehill coming off Week 8 knee and quad injuries. A Blount trade would probably the the least surprising of the group.

The Buccaneers considered using the first-round RFA tender on running back LeGarrette Blount, but they apparently were able to secure him for far less.

As noted by former agent Joel Corry on Twitter, Blount has re-signed with the Bucs for one year.

He’ll make $1.75 million, including $1.25 million in base salary, $350,000 in reporting bonus and a $150,000 workout bonus.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to trade RB LeGarrette Blount this offseason even though he signed a one-year deal. The Buccaneers could receive a mid-round pick in a trade for Blount. Analysis: Easier to trade a guy with a bargain contract, and it's clear that Doug Martin is the go-to guy in Tampa Bay. Blount could wind up as a between-the-tackles member of a committee, but his fantasy value at this juncture is negligible.

This makes much more sense now. If they can get a deal done then this was a great move.

The Boston Herald doesn't expect the Patriots to offer "much more" than $2 million over two years to free agent LeGarrette Blount. Analysis: This falls right in line with what we'd expect, as well. Blount is a pure early-down bruiser who offers nothing in the passing game. New England also has Stevan Ridley and Brandon Bolden as options should Blount decide to take his talents elsewhere. Blount wants to stay with the Patriots, but the money has to be right.

Not sure what to think about Blount. He's so hot or cold.

That was a strange landing spot for him. I dont think he is going to get many carries with Bell in front of him. I still think he is overrated. I think he just decided to grab the money for a couple more years until he is finished playing.

Andy, sounds like he a troublemaker - leading Bell astray...

Steelers waived RB LeGarrette Blount.

That didn't take long. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported early Tuesday afternoon that Blount would be disciplined for leaving the field before the conclusion of Monday's win over the Titans, and the Steelers have decided to do so by cutting ties altogether with the insubordinate back. Blount hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt over a career littered with incidents, both big and small. The fact that he was averaging just 4.09 yards per carry behind breakout star Le'Veon Bell was the nail in Blount's Steelers coffin. Blount has proven useful as a power runner in timeshare backfields, but has always been overrated in short-yardage situations, and offers nothing in the passing game. Throw in his constant troublemaking, and you have a back unlikely to draw much interest on the open market, especially with Ben Tate also available. One month shy of his 28th birthday, Blount is running out of time in the league.

Report from ESPN...seems overly optimistic http://www.espn.com/fantasy/football/story/_/id/19404361/nfl-fantasy-football-legarrette-blount-fantasy-value-philadelphia-eagles

A 1 year deal is really a "show us you still got it" and if you don't you're gone. As always the "O" line is the key, with the Eagles ranked in the top 10 by many following the 2016 season.
