N.1 Player RetirementAny player who goes into retirement (defined as filed papers with the NFL), may not be placed on IR. They may be dropped at no cost to the owner
ONLY when MFL shows them as a FA.If a player retires but does not show up as a FA but instead has a
(R) next to their name...

In general, when a player retires, they are dropped from their NFL team and therefore show up as a Free Agent (FA). In the case of Malcolm Butler, it looks like they placed him on the "Reserve/Retired" list, so that is sort of "no man's land". He will remain in our system as being listed on the NFL team with a red (R) next to his name until they make his retirement official.
...you may take a screenshot of the status and send it to your League Commissioner
BEFORE dropping the player at no cost. It must be done in this order so that your league commissioner sees it and knows of it before seeing the email of the drop. If you cannot follow that simple direction or didn't bother to check the bylaws on it prior, you deservedly will be charged the WB for dropping the contract years.
N.2 Suspended PlayersIf a player is suspended by the NFL, it is an owner’s responsibility to handle that player as they normally would. A suspended player
MAY NOT be put on the IR. They have no special exceptions in the eyes of the RWDOC.
N.3 NFL Free AgentsAn NFL free agent may be dropped in RWDOC with no penalty to the owner. The player must be recognized by MFL as an NFL free agent in order for there to be no cost for the release.
N.4 DeathsWhen there is a player death the player’s status typically does not change on myfantasyleague.com. In this case as long as there is some factual news on it, a player who has died will be treated by the RWDOC as an NFLFA meaning he can be released at no charge. Contact the RWP if you have any questions about a situation like this.
