I love Keenan Allen, but I definitely think you won that one. Even though Josh Gordon won't play again.

I love Keenan, I got him at a very good price in the auction and I have been a buyer of his all offseason but at the time I felt I had the depth to move from Allen to Maclin and the 1st. Josh Gordon in the deal was a dart throw, if he doesn't come back (which I don't think he will) then it didn't cost me that much to take that risk... But this trade was done prior to contracts and prior to the 2017 week 3 onslaught of injuries... After losing Edelman I probably would not make this trade again if it was offered today.

Trade 2 was about me getting a better QB situation than Bortles, Flacco & Glennon. The enticing thing about the 1st round pick that I got in the Keenan Allen trade is it gave me 2 1st rounders to play with in 2018, in what I feel is a QB heavy draft. Duffers had some holes he needed to address and I had some depth in some areas to include the 2 1sts so it made sense for both teams in my opinion to work out a trade that could help both of us out.

And then trade 3 was right after the unfortunate news hit that Edelman would be lost for the season. Cobb is no Edelman, but I felt he added some much needed value and points that I needed for the team. This was also the only trade that happened so far after contracts were announced, so while that isn't a huge deal it is still a factor. Giving up a 1st, 4th and what looks to be OAK MLB might be a tad overpay for Cobb and a 2nd but the trade market right now is barren, so I wanted to act and act somewhat swiftly to resolve what could have been a catastrophic injury to the team with the Edelman news.

Those were my thoughts on the trades.

I enjoy reading people's rationale for trades. Gives me insight into what makes people trade.

Nah not to make a trade happen just curious as I'm not a big trader so it's always interesting to hear why someone else makes a trade especially if it's lopsided or not favorable for one team.

Divine gives up Jerrell Freeman

Pigskins give up Ziggy Ansah and 2019 Pigskins 2nd round.

This was tough one for me. This weakens me this year and strengthen Matt this year, but I really like the value of Ansah and the 2nd round pick for aging LB.

I probably overpaid but Craig wouldn't take any less. I tried. I like Freeman a lot this year. That defense should be on the field quite a bit and he's good at racking up tackles. Plus with Vontaze 'clown-dick' Burfict missing some games another good LB became a need. Will hopefully be a strength when he comes back

I'd lean Justin's side on this one, only because he already has Doug Martin. Otherwise, it's just meh to me.

Ghoji raked me over the coals on this one. With Edelman down he won for sure but I just have a soft spot for Hopkins.

I don't like players who need almost 200 targets to be good.

I don't think it was a win for me in the vacuum of this trade, but I have much more confidence sending out Jordy and Cooks on a weekly basis than Nuk. My thought is that both Cooks and Nuk are high upside players, but Cooks 'should' have more consistency that will help my glaring weakness at WR.

Eh he wouldn't need 200 good targets. Shit QB play. Who knows if that'll ever change though.

He won't be Moss, but the last time TB12 had a X WR target like this they set some records together. The 150 Edelman targets have to go somewhere from a QB that throws 600 passes a year.

We will see what happens when the lights come on.

That's why I think Justin wins this one. Nuk can be constant at least 4 receptions and 50 yards, Cooks will be anywhere from 1 rec for 8 yards to 10 for 140 yards

The only thing that's weird is that I tried my fucking damndest to win Hopkins in the auction. Chased him all the way up to $126. Finally had to give up the chase and settle for Cooks at $86 which saved me $40.

In what world? I would love to hear the reasoning here.

Same amount of receptions last season for both players and Cooks numbers are better across the board. I like Hopkins. I bought him in the auction. How is he way x3 over Cooks though given what we know.

Just my preference. I like Hopkins in dynasty more than Cooks. Everyone thinks differently.

I like the Cooks side way better. Cooks is going to have a massive year with Brady throwing him the ball. Who is going to throw to Nuk?

Yup...based on opportunity/situation give me Cooks. Last year Cooks #7 overall/240 Fantasy points...Hopkins #33/181. Think Cooks comes down a bit; Hopkins stays about where he was. Will be fun to watch, since I have neither. wink

Hopkins is the better player, Cooks is in the better situation.

The gap between Cooks and Hopkins situation is greater than the gap between Hopkins and Cooks talent.

So Cooks, just, for this year at least.

Ertz is on a 5 year deal. Shazier 2, Walford 1.

Russ loves those late round picks

Everyone should take note and send some offers my way before I get this figured out.

On a serious note, it is entertaining seeing the perceived value of some players depending on the time of the year and the transaction being looked at.

Maple Grove Mean Machine / Bergen Brawlers Trade

Maple Grove Mean Machine gave up:
Manning, Eli NYG QB (2 YEAR)

Bergen Brawlers gave up:
Campbell, De'Vondre ATL LB (1 YEAR)
Humber, Ramon BUF LB (1 YEAR)
Year 2018 Round 4 Draft Pick from Kane County Goon Squad

Eli is what he is, but I think Russ got the better of this trade.
