Dez is overvalued.

Are we just going to ignore that the last time Dez played 16 games, he had 88 catches for 1300+ yards and 16 TD's?

Or the fact that Zach Brown was only able to get a 1 year deal in Free Agency? He jumped from 55 tackles to 94 tackles. For me, the chances of him repeating that season are slim to none.

Not to mention the fact that LB's can come out of anywhere and you could hit on the next big thing off the waiver wire. Lorenzo Alexander, Zach Orr and Zach Brown were top 5 LB's last year. To get a potential WR1, you need a high draft pick or a blockbuster trade.

Dave by a mile. Brown is just as risky as Dez. One year wonder, new team. But it's only a one year contract so he will be highly motivated.

I think Dez is a bit overvalued as well. Now with that said, I think he is a WR1 but I feel he is at the bottom of that ranking.

In 2016, he had the least number of targets per game average since 2011. He averaged 7.46 targets per game and has about a 50% reception average off those targets. Here are his targets per game numbers since 2012.

2012: 8.625 targets per game
2013: 10 targets per game
2014: 8.6 targets per game
2015: 8.22 targets per game
2016: 7.46 targets per game

Since 2013, he is losing at least about 1/2 a target per game.

Then add in the fact that Elliott gives them a solid running game and Dallas now throws the ball less. Pre Ezekiel, Dallas passed 56% of the time in 2015. Last season, Dallas passed just 49% of the time.

Dez and the 2nd. You can argue Dez being Dez, or you don't like Dez, or Dez is a whiny bitch. What you can't argue is that Dez has more value than Brown.

As it was posted earlier, in the RR auction, Dez went for TWICE as much as Brown did. Throw in a 2nd rounder too..... no doubt that if I ended up on the Dez side of the trade I am not only happy, I am staying blissfully silent because I hope to pull off another big trade. I don't want others to think I am trying to take advantage.

As the RR Dez owner, I think if you're looking at athletic potential, you have to go with him. That said, there's a story I heard out of Dallas where Dez was sued by the owner of the giant mansion he rented because he totally fucked the place up. Not only was months-old, rotting garbage piled up all over the house, but he had a couple or more dogs around that were never taken out and never cleaned up after. They also were rarely fed properly so their food was just spilled all over the place, and of course they seemed to get into the rotting trash, too.

Now, no one lives like that without some shit in their past that's not their fault. Dez has demons. Those may hold back his adult life and also his career. But his potential is though the roof.

If the draft picks were reversed, I'd say close trade... But to give up Dez AND the higher pick... scratch

Philadelphia Pigskins gave up Foster, Mason WAS LB

A trade where Matt didn't absolutely destroy someone.

Disagree. Every chance Foster doesn't start this year with Zach Brown in. Either Foster or Compton lose their place. To be decided.

Mike Wallace is a solid WR3. Mason Foster has a 50% chance of being a LB4.

I'd love to get the inside scoop on this trade discussions.  BTW, for those that don't know where to look, Eric had 324 WBs.

Matt trades Dak Prescott, John Brown, Vinny Curry, Jahleel Addae, and 2 first round picks

to

Eric for Russell Wilson, Terrell Pryor, two 4th round picks AND 4 WBs!

The comment on the deal is "Throw in a few WB to get a deal done?"

That's a lot of draft capital for someone to need a few extra WBs to get you to pull the trigger.  The question is whether Matt wanted 10 and Eric was able to negotiate him down to 4.

I actually can't believe that people respond to his trades at this point. Just setting yourself up for failure. It is like he practices voodoo. He probably has little pin-cushions of everyone in TT.

You two think this trade is imbalanced because that 2019 first is going to be really late, right? 1st

Ok, now for the actual reason. The 2018 first is almost definitely going to be late, John Brown is already injured, and I am not a Prescott believer. Not a Pryor believer either, but the extra years of Wilson's contract and the other factors give Matt the victory in this one from my perspective.

Contract Years for players involved for those in DD/Minor league:

Dak (1), Brown (1), Addae (1), Curry (2)

Wilson (4), Pryor (4)

If you think Wilson and Pryor are great then you're gonna love this for Matt. If you think Wilson and Pryor are "eh" then Eric did pretty good.

Matt has at least three other players that he has to tag next year. Leveon Bell, AJ Green, Jordan Reed. So getting out from another potential tag is a big deal.

I did this deal mostly for the picks & I don't think the players I traded for will score much if any lower then the guys I traded away in the long run + I don't have many good players on 1 year deal so I am prepared to SFT Prescott & FT Brown if things go according to plan

edit - no I don't think Prescott is as good as Wilson, but I do like him going forward & my team still needs more pieces then a couple great players

I like Eric side. He has the WB capital to sign Prescott easily and hand him a 10 year deal if he wants. Getting two 1st rounders for two 4th rounders is a huge difference, I don't care if they are pick 12's when the time comes. As long as you pick the right guy(s) it's a win. As for Brown vs Pryor, ehh flip a coin. Maybe Pryor eeks out a small win this year, but if Cousins flees Washington remind who will be throwing him the ball?

Ain't a big win here for either team, this deal looks pretty even steven too me. Eric lost a twenty yesterday at the cafe, but will find a twenty tomorrow in his inside jacket pocket.

Christ, that's actually pretty fair. Shocked

I'd take Matt's side just purely due to the contract years but Eric has done as good a job as anyone in a Matt trade over the past 2 years.

It's really two reasons.  First, Matt is a heck of a guy and he makes you want to do a deal with him.  Second, Matt refuses to give an inch.  He puts out an offer and that's really his final position.  The offers are fairer than a lot I've seen but definitely in his favor.  So if you want to do a deal, it's gonna be that offer that he sent out.

The real danger comes when you send him an offer first.  Then you're gonna have trouble sitting for a few days.

But I did not expect to be the DD Championship my first year, and winning a bunch of cash from the Pot helped the pain.
