I think I will take the pick. Not sure how this compares to the place where he was drafted in the dispersal, but the contract is a lot different.

Yeah, the value was about right so a good deal for both sides. Dan gets back his biggest regret and I got back the pick I lost in a bet to Andy.

ME mock

Your team needs the picks buddy. If you need more let me know ok? I always like to help teams that are rebuilding.

It does. I appreciate the assist, Sty. I'll get my bait updated.

Bergen Brawlers gave up
Dorsett, Phillip IND WR (Year: 6)
   Mohawk Ridge Marauders gave up
Year 2018 Round 6 Draft Pick from Bergen Brawlers

Contract dump I realize, but I get some Moncrief insurance for a low price tag.  Good way to get my feet wet in RW trading I feel. Good working with you Russ.

I kinda like both sides of this trade. I wouldn't count out Dorsett just yet, as he is still young and trying to get up to speed with everything. He does have Andrew Luck, and anything is possible with a really good QB.

But, I only say this if you have better options currently at the position. Now if he currently a starter for you, then that's a problem...... Haven't looked at the rosters yet, but I hope that's not the case

I was offered the same deal but declined because I didn't want to be tied up with the lengthy contract for the guy.  But this is the first time I've been in a league with contracts so definitely a learning curve.

If I didn't have to find room to add contracts for about 20 draft picks this year I would have held onto him because I do like his upside, especially in that offense.

That contract is rough and definitely made me think hard, but he is my WR 6/7, I have very few long term contracts right now, and I do have Moncrief, so just in case he goes down, I figure Dorsett would be the guy to step in. I definitely could see myself having to buy out some contract years however if it comes down to it..

twinklebutt, with the new rule you dont have to give contracts to many of your draft picks. Read the bylaws every once in a while and maybe you wont get yourself in these predicaments! wow...

yes  Why yes he does. My roster has some flexibility at WR and it was in some need of LB help with players that are under contract.  If I tag Ogletree and with Preston Brown, I at least have 2 starting LB's now.  I gave up the '18 3rd Round pick because I have a pair of 2nd Round picks in '18.  Now I can move up one of my other WR's into Crowder's former slot and go with Ogletree & Brown at LB.  Therefore, SMAK saw the benefits of pulling the trigger on this deal. grin

Devils Tower Outlaws gave up
Graham, Brandon PHI DE (Year: 2)

Littleton SilverBallers gave up
Davis, Sean PIT S (Year: 5)

I needed a DE and got a 200 pt one! Finally sweating ...I was starting to get a little nervous that I would go into the season with 7 safeties.

I like Davis, but not sure why I hit him with a 5 year deal. Safeties seem like they get replaced quicker than a lineman, so I'm kinda happy I cut some years down.

More people for me to add during the season now mischieveous

Blockbuster, I know.

The Charm City Justice acquire:
Jaron Brown, WR, Ari (1 year)
Chris Hogan, WR, NE (1 year)
Torrey Smith, WR, SF (1 year)

from the Bergen Brawlers for:
2018 Round 5 Draft Pick - Morrison Minions

I have my rationale for acquiring each of them, and chances are that at least one of them will end up with some kind tag/extension situation.

Gotcha. I just saw all the 0 year contracts and figured I would ask. Looks like you are in a better boat than I am with less guys to extend this year.

Hogan was a guy that I was seriously considering tagging before the move.

I can see Hogan being tagged, and possibly Brown extended. But I'm not sure about Smith.......That dude is a bum!!!

Yeah, with the dispersal draft I was able to plan accordingly for 0 year contract guys.

He's a Terp, so this is probably mostly homerism on my part, but it is not exactly like he has had Montana or Young throwing him the ball in SF.

I do think owning the rights to a player is worth something. I think it's downplayed here more than it should be. There is the aspect of nice fresh contract for free if they go without being auctioned obviously. Also, I think it's much easier to match low bids and defend players than it is to steal em away from someone else.

Might not be a huge thing but positioning isn't a bad idea.

Ha!  Maybe that came off more conceited than I intended.  I rule scared

All I meant was that at least for this year, I have minimal 0 year contracts.  With all this talking up from Ed, I really feel like I need to win something this year to prove myself.  Good thing SMAK has me towards the bottom of the list so my head doesn't get too big. lol3

In my opinion the rich get richer, although with Green only having one year left and Mark's DE and RB situation I can see the rationale for the deal.

I think it's a pretty big win for Matt. With Henry eating into Murray's numbers, I like Matt's side by quite a bit. But, I do love AJ Green more than most.

I don't think Henry ate into them all that much. When a guy totals 290 points, it's not really all that bad. I also needed DE help, and I like Everson.
