I might sell Eli. In fact, I may move a bunch of players this year. I'm ready to mix it up.

I had room for a 1 year guy, and niece have all my tags used. I am just nervous about going forward depending on Bortles. Rivers helps in the short term. Brad did a well because he didn't be have enough tags to go around.

Then again it is Rivers who has been in the league since 1960's so might be only a one year 20wb extension. In that case not a bad lease of a dinosaur. Either way good offer for both teams.

Haha, he just turned 35. QB was the one position that killed me this year. Mariota was good for a big part of the season and Bortles wasn't bad in garbage time, but in the playoffs I had 12 points combined one game. You can't win with that. Rivers will be a decent replacement for 3 years (hopefully).

California Nightmare gave up

Not sure I understands Greg's side here. Are you going to tag a backup QB or just trade a pick and 7wbs to save 1 wb?

I offered Matt a 1st in 2018 and a 1st in 2019. He didn't like it and countered with this so I said fuck it, but I did all I could to save the 7 WBs.

PostSubject: Re: 2017 Roster Wars TRADE Discussion   Sun Jan 29, 2017 10:31 am

Ok, I will start off. Two huge trades.

On the Silvereballer/NightHawk trade I see a couple of things. Silverballers loves getting those studs and got one in Melvin Gordon. It was not without consequence though as he gave up some excellent players as well and also a 2nd AND 1st rounder. I give the win to NightHawks here as I feel the guys he got in return are excellent and for the most part young. Contract wise I do not feel Silverballers did his team any favor as he gave up a 1 year guy Pierre-Paul for another E Sanders so... Lots of decisions for both teams to make as far as tags.

In my trade all I will say is giving up Carr was not something I planned on doing as I feel in the next 10 years he will be the top QB in the NFL even ahead of Winston. But. He was on a one year deal and I have a history of getting rid of players on 1 year deal (Brady, Antonio Brown, etc etc). I found good value plus a DT that I have been trying to get from Chris all year so went with it.
I also have to say that doing business with Bern was amazing, he is similar to me in that he doesn't low-ball but gets to the point right away.

Good trades, they both change alot how these three teams will deal with their tags now.

Getting two 1sts for Carr is good deal for you. Carr is really good, but there is still alot of parity amongst QBs.

For the other trade, I tend to like the Gordon/Sanders side a little more.

I really am glad I got a really good RB, because that's what my team was lacking last year. I was planning on tagging or giving an extension to JPP, so I will just do the same thing with Sanders.

To me it's easier to find FA Defensive players. So losing JPP does suck though. But I feel it will be easier to grab another starter in FA, or during the RFA bidding. So I feel my Offense will be way better now with the addition of Sanders and Gordon.

I know the Roster Wars community is having flash backs of Pecking Fish. And I knew when I decided to go after Derek Carr, the head-scratching would begin. However, none of this scared me because I have complete trust in SMAK (just like Russ does). Remeber, this isn't a re-draft league. So take off your narrow minded blinders, put on your night vision goggles, and follow along with the NightHawks strategy. It's not nearly as complicated as the SMAK formula, and after you read this, the light bulb will go off in your heads as you soon be saying, “God-damn, that Magnum PI is a lot smarter than I gave him credit for.”

First of all, Derek Carr is not a mid-road NFL QB that so many of you East Coast, biased owners believe him to be. SMAK has him rated just inside the Top 10 for 2017 (that's out of 32 NFL teams). But look a little further than that. Who else is in the Top 10? How about Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and Aaron Rodgers? Have any of you done the math and combined the ages of these 4? I don't need to, I know it's gotta be close to 300 years old. Derek Carr is ONLY 25 frickin years old! Who is going to be sitting in the drivers seat in a few years with this stud QB after all them Grandpas retire? On top of that, who's going to have 2 first round picks in a few years when Carr is the top dog? Can you all see the puzzle coming together now? Besides, look at the QB's that were on the current NightHawk roster. Joe Flacco(32), Carson Palmer(37), and Teddy I Can't Even Walk, Let Alone Cross Over A Bridgewater. Therefore, you have to pay, if you want to play. And sometimes you have to pay the “Crazy, I Don't Want To Sell” asking price, and I just happened to have a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket. So now the NightHawks have their starting QB, a committee of RB's, and a committee of WR's. To go along with that, our defense will be led by a strong young core of LB's. So go ahead and laugh all you want right now, but I'll guarantee somebody will be shitting their pants when they see the NightHawks as their opponent in the 2017 Roster War Playoffs!

Salut! mario banana
#ItrustSMAK (And so does Russ) mario banana

P.S.  Do you want to know why the trade was done on Sunday?  Because it's quiet around here on Sundays and the Dispersal Draft begins on Monday.  All eyes will be there and this trade will be in the public eye for less than 24 hours as that Draft will take center stage.  Low-Key publicity is the name of the game for the NightHawks.  Damn Magnum, you're one smart PI!

Look at that: After all the dust settled from Sunday Funday, the Nighthawks traded away:

Melvin Gordon
Sterling Shepard
Emmanuel Sanders
Sheldon Rankins
Ryan Shazier

And the Nighthawks received:

Derek Carr
Ameer Abdullah
Jamison Crowder
Marvin Jones
Tyler Boyd
Willie Snead
Star Lotulelei
Jason Pierre-Paul
Blake Martinez

As for Draft Picks, the Nighthawks traded away:

2017 First Round Pick
2017 Third Round Pick
2018 First Round Pick

The Nighthawks received:

2017 Third Round Pick
2018 Second Round Pick
2019 First Round Pick

As for the wallet, the Nighthawks spent:

$20 War Bucks

But the Nighthawks did receive the day before:

$10 War Bucks

Who's you callin Crazy now?  Not this Pecker Fish!  mock mario banana

Salut! And Good Night!
