What's the latest on him? Up until today I had only heard positive reports but earlier today I saw a couple of message board posts where people were down on him. I checked Google but couldn't find anything negative. Did anyone watch his game? He seems like a good fit in the slot and should produce in a Chip Kelly offense, especially given the acquisition cost which was minimal until only recently.

Hadn't heard anything... maybe people are down because he is the #3 WR behind Patton and Smith, and potentially the #4 target behind the TE as well... Being the #4 target on what is going to be a pretty bad offense is not exactly a recipe for fantasy relevance...

Kid just can't stay healthy...but both QB's look horrible so far, so not sure what value he holds/held anyway.

Quote :
49ers WR/KR Bruce Ellington suffered a strained hamstring in Friday night's preseason game.
He missed the second preseason game with an ankle injury. Ellington's hamstring strain looked serious, as he walked gingerly off the field before being met by trainers on the sideline with a towel over his head. Ellington has mammoth opportunity, but he simply can't stay off the shelf. Aug 26 - 11:25 PM

Yeah, it's going to be a very long and painful season for the 49ers. On the bright side, Hyde looked pretty good on that l9ng run. Maybe they should run the ball 80% of the time....

Yeah, Ellington is just another guy.

One of the WRs here have to step up, don't they? I mean they have that bum Torrey Smith, but outside of that it's just 3rd and 4th stringers. This has to be the worst group of WRs in NFL history laughing

49ers placed WR Bruce Ellington on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season.

Competing for a starting job, Ellington was an intriguing sleeper headed into training camp. His loss further thins San Francisco's embarrassingly-thin receiver corps, and means recently-acquired Jeremy Kerley could have to man the slot. Coach Chip Kelly has almost nothing to work with on offense. Now 25, Ellington will head into the final year of his rookie deal with all of 19 career catches.

Shocked

Maybe the Vikings should trade Jarius Wright to San Fran for Gabbert. Lol.....
