Original Title of thread: You are all insane....and I love it
1 Who are you? Where do you live?[/ John, I claim cincinnati, but in truth i am just over the river in Kentucky
2 Tell us about your fantasy football experience, including the types of leagues you play in and where they are hosted. My experience in fantasy football has been excellent. It has always been a ton of fun. 1 redraft league left. 1 Salary cap league that i love more than any other league and it is my cheapest entry league. I have joined multiple dynasty leagues this year (Filmroom and Capitalist Pigs are 2 of note) and i created my EMPIRE LEAGUE. I play across all sites, no loyalty as of yet.
3 Why do you want to be part of Roster Wars...what drew your interest? cc]]I was drawn in because i started a podcast talking about how crazy i am (i am just trying to prove to my wife that it could be worse, i am not sure she is buying it). Fantasy Insanity discusses leagues that are beyond just a standard league and this league definitely fits that topic. It was an honor to talk about this league and i seriously think if i have an audience the Roster Wars is going to shock them as well. It is so far beyond anything else i have found or discussed on my pod. Truly the dedication of the owners in this league is tremendous and the love that Andy has for this league comes through in his discussion of it. I respect the hell out of people that care that much about something that they created that provides them nothing beyond entertainment and provides so much for others.
4 How much time in a typical week do you spend on your fantasy football hobby? How much time is in a week. My brain is demented. I work 3-12 shifts during my work week and including commute that means a bit over 40 hours that i spend listening to football podcasts. Once home, i am often working on my next episode, or involved in a draft or trying to work a trade. I READ OTHER LEAGUE BYLAWS FOR FUN. I have had dreams that actually centered around fantasy football. I am not sure that HOBBY is the right word.
5 Talk about a favorite memory or crazy fantasy football related story. ff]]Favorite memory was the opening auction of the salary cap league i started. I have won championships and run other leagues, but this was my first venture beyond redraft and I will never forget the feeling of watching this league that i created from scratch begin. As the EMPIRE league goes through this same start i get the same feeling. it is great to see the hard work that goes into league formation pay off.
6 What do you think members of your other leagues would say about you as an owner? I do not have to think about what they say. I KNOW THEY SAY I AM FUCKING NUTS. They say it straight to my face, and i take it as a compliment. They would also say that i hate hate hate running backs. I would disagree with that, i dont hate them, i just think they are pretty much worthless.
7 Anything else you would like to add? I think your community here is just amazing. I told someone i was doing a show (probably a 3 part series actually, yeah Andy our second session went way long even though i stopped recording way before i should have) about Roster Wars and they asked me to describe it. I gave the following description- Think the tightness of a biker bar, where people are not family but have a bond that goes beyond just friendship, but instead of the obsession being over motorcycles, it is over fantasy football.
8 Are you joining to be a friend of the league or do you you intend to start out as a prospect? I am not worthy of prospect status by any means. I am a dedicated owner to my teams, but i know i would either not be able to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to this league that it deserves...or i would dedicate that time and it would put my other leagues in jeopardy. For now i am just a friend of the league who is very interested in it.
Damn you John..."As if" Andy needs another platform to spew from.
Glad to have you here, and look forward to hearing more...Do you have a link to your podcast? I'm just a Lazy SOB...Too busy doing other things :munch: to google.
Famous, as far as i can tell he is already internationally known, so i am counting on him to make me famous. Though i have a brother living in Germany, he still knows me, so i guess i am also internationally known, except when he returns to visit.
Hey John.....You're going to love it here. Glad you signed up. You should jump in the RW Training Camp. If for no other reason I am in it and we could be in another league together. I also have no idea what I am doing in IDP period honestly.
Listening to your blog today....have Justin Speer's on right now.
Hope you'll drop by from time to time John. It was a pleasure chatting with you on the show and afterwards. If you decide to throw your hat in the ring here someday, I know you'll fit right in.
I will have to check out the podcast. I would listen to a few, UTH, DLF, DynastyNerds, Footballguys and Pyro on my travel days out of state. Made for good lullaby music because I would start sleeping about 15 minutes into each one.
I will certainly stop back from time to time. I may try the tc. Part of me wants to try idp, but I have just made jump to dynasty, so was hoping to hold off the idp bug a year at least.

Once you go IDP you don't go back.
This is very true. IDP is the only way to play fantasy football! Will never join a league without it, unless it's a MFL 10 or 25 league.

Born and raised in Edgewood. Left only to go to college and returned with my wife (grad of ryle in union) back to Edgewood. Love this little city and cannot imagine ever moving out of it at this point.

Have a cousin who lived in Edgewood. Got locked up for cookin' meth and doing some other stuff, but he's ok now I think. Also saw Tom Browning and Bo Diaz there once (or maybe it was Erlanger).

A bunch of folks in my Florida condo complex are from Maysville. Used to travel a lot for business to Bardstown.
Today is the day the Roster Wars episode of Fantasy Insanity drops. Part 1 at least. You all know full well that there is way too much to cover about Roster Wars to fit into 1 episode. Gonna be a 3 part series. Next episode out in a couple of days.
Link to episode will be pinned on my twitter page @EMPIREFFL
Hope you all listen and enjoy, and share this with others.
Thank you for letting me be even a small part of this crazy, i mean insane, league.
Thanks again John. Crazy that it's 3 parts and that we went sidebar for another lengthy bit after the show was over and could have kept going. It's been a while so I'm interested to hear what I had to say too.
Not sure what's gonna be worse....hearing my own dumb voice, hearing myself not cover something or hearing myself say something that I wouldn't agree with today.

hope you all are enjoying this show. It was great to talk to Andy about this league/community. Really is truly unique- Read that as you all owe him and should send him beer whenever possible. Honestly though i love that you all put in effort to make your league what it is. It is amazing and it has gotten some great feedback, mostly people just cant believe it.
Here are the links for each episode if anyone isn't on twitter to catch them.

I listen to lots of podcasts and yours has quickly climbed my list. I enjoyed doing the show with you and looks like at least 2 folks are interested in RW after hearing Fantasy Insanity so thank you. I'm looking forward to future episodes since they'll be new to me.
You know where to go when you're ready to dip your big toe into the IDP side of the pool.
John, is there a way to fast forward through the podcast? I listened to the first half of the 2nd one yesterday and tried to finish it today but was taken back to the beginning. I couldn't find a way to fast forward to get to where I stopped yesterday.

Isn't it one of those things where you can click the progress bar at the bottom? Pardon my laziness in going to look for myself.
Show is also free on Itunes and I know you can click the progress bar there. Or guesstimate how far in you were, start the show and go find something to do for that amount of time.
