So I'm often very bitter in this league because I feel like I lose a lot with good scores based on bad luck on head-to-head match-ups. Crying or Very sad

So anyway, for no reason at all, I went looking to find the total scoring for my team over the life of Roster Wars. MFL tracks this, along with a lot of other historical information, it's great. I believe Andy puts some info in as well.

Anyway, since I was in there, I decided to pull some information for all of the remaining original teams. There are fourteen teams that have been here since the beginning.

I'm at work so have limited access to stuff, so sorry for the poor formatting.

Team Total Points Wins Lose Win (%) Average Score
England 12,343.52 28 9 75.68% 333.61
Adelaide 11,603.00 19 18 51.35% 313.59
Hamilton 11,597.90 17 20 45.95% 313.46
Singapore 11,476.66 23 14 62.16% 310.18
Philadelph 11,402.80 20 17 54.05% 308.18
Atlanta 11,385.96 22 15 59.46% 307.73
Mohawk 11,355.28 23 14 62.16% 306.90
Sanibel 11,240.80 18 19 48.65% 303.81
Norfolk 11,196.16 19 18 51.35% 302.60
San Fran 11,014.74 17 20 45.95% 297.70
Florida 10,930.86 19 18 51.35% 295.43
Las Vegas 10,566.34 14 23 37.84% 285.58
Decatur 10,388.12 11 26 29.73% 280.76
Minnesota 10,330.50 15 22 40.54% 279.20

So first, disclaimer - obviously total points over three years doesn't totally capture your performance. You might have been good in two years, but terrible in the third, or average in all three, this stat won't capture that.

But, with that out of the way, some things that stand out to me:

Most importantly, my cry-baby sentiments have been validated. Over the past three years I have been the top scorer in the TT yet have barely a .500 record. Of course, that doesn't mean I've actually been the top scorer as that title surely belonged to Jason, and thinking about it now, I should have included his team for reference, but I'm too lazy to go back and plus he's gone anyway so suck it, Syndicate.

But yes. I am awesome. Just unlucky. You should all bow to me. Thanks.

Secondly - the gap between England and the rest of the DD is pretty large. Atlanta is the second best DD team (in total scoring) and is 950 points behind the Dragons. That is, frankly, absurd.

Along the same lines, the TT is extremely close. While I just went on patting myself on the back for being the "top" TT scorer-when-not-counting-the-Syndicate, I am six points ahead of Todd who, similar to me, seems to have suffered some bad luck with a sub-.500 record. If memory serves, most of that will be from last year, I think Todd had a shit record last year.

Singapore and Philadelphia are also within a couple of hundred points, which as we can see here is about 5 points per game. Not a huge gap.

Justin has been mediocre and lucky as #### and in a weak division, but we all knew that already. laughing

Bob and RWC are in a heated race for the bottom, so keep an eye on that this year.

Above all, it needs to be noted that this is just past performance and has nothing to do with where teams are trending. But hey, for what it's worth.

Thanks Mike, interesting read

For the record, Jon is miles ahead of the best TT team too, not just DD. Amazingly consistent!
Lots of good comparisons - like Sty having the same win % as you despite averaging almost 20 ppg less

I think Todd had 2 years of unbelievable bad luck actually - 45% win % with the 3rd highest total is astounding...

Would be interesting for shits and giggles to compare regular season vs playoff scoring totals...

No hate, just facts. You're one of the more loaded teams now, this is about the past.

Excellent point, should've just written that. I had it filtered by conference in my spreadsheet, so didn't notice that.

Whether in team performance or posting, I'm consistently mediocre. Yay Singapore!

It may be indicative of chapter parity if groupn them by chapter first, then rank

Cool stuff, thanks Mike. It's a good thing we have the 6th seed set up the way we do. It sucks even more to be that good and miss the playoffs entirely.

Interesting stuff Mike - thanks for putting it together.

I seem to be pretty consistent in the regular season and then shit the bed in one of the play-off games. Don't really know what I can do about that.

shrug

Oh, and you are right about Todd. His win rate compared to his points total is awful. Shows how much an unlucky schedule can mess with you.

This is interesting and sorry for your bad luck......fantasy has luck to it. I dont care what anyone says.

Even if it is I get a win because I played against the only team I coulda won against (I had 2nd lowest scoring) That is still luck ----

Interesting how some teams kept their old names (Adelaide Empire) and some got their new ones (Mohawk Ridge Marauders) in MFL history.

That's cuz the Mohawk Ridge is the bomb. I wish the JL was erased everywhere because I vastly prefer my new setup.

Great stuff Mike, that took some effort.

Well, I just can't say shit. It's not all bad luck for me, some very stupid trades put me where I am. That's it in a nutshell, now we have to play catch up. We will get there, but it's at least 3 years away.

Never trade when you have partaken of Nawak'osis. It can destroy and you smile while doing it. Also, it makes you think you're smart. It lies. Doesn't mean I will stop using the Sacred Weed, just means I have to lock up all of my devices.

Part of the legend:

The brothers, who called the sacred weed nawak’osis, were meant to teach its use to the people. But nawak’osis made them powerful and wise and clear-minded, and they did not want to share it with others. They planted the sacred weed in a secret place that only they knew. They guarded the songs and prayers and rituals that went with smoking. They formed a Tobacco Society, just the four of them.

This is also partly why we sold you land for a few baubles. Ya' bunch of fucking Immigrants, Clear minded and powerful my ass.................................
