Quote :
ESPN's James Walker believes Jay Ajayi "could put up 1,900 total yards if he stays healthy."

Walker's official projection is 1,435 rushing yards, 482 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. The rushing number is not far-fetched considering Ajayi rumbled for 1,272 yards in 12 starts last season, although that number was inflated by three 200-yard games. The receiving number is more of a jump after Ajayi logged just 151 yards through the air last year, but the back has earned consistent praise for his improvement in the passing game all offseason. Only two running backs managed 1,900 total yards last year -- Le'Veon Bell would have joined David Johnson and Ezekiel Elliott on that list if he had played 16 games -- so the fact that Ajayi even has a shot at that number shows what kind of fantasy upside he possesses. He is a locked-in RB1.

What are thoughts on Ajayi? He showed at times this past year where he could explode. Will they ride him enough? Too much?

I don't see him going backward, that's for sure. I don't know if 400+ receiving is a possibility, but he should be more consistent.

I think he is going to do really well although he is being over drafted. I've seen him in rankings at like 5th overall and he is just not that good.

I didn't watch him that much, but I'm not a huge fan. I can't really figure out why.

Don't think he reaches last years numbers; definitely won't come close to the projected receiving yards, and 7/8 tds seems more likely than 12. Still, he played better last season than I  figured...so there you have it.  lol3

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl running back Jay Ajayi was diagnosed with a concussion and ruled out of Wednesday's practice, coach Adam Gase confirmed.

Ajayi was hit hard several times in Monday's full-contact practice and left the field early. The timeline for his recovery is yet to be determined.

Probably not cause for concern yet (at least not from a fantasy perspective), but head injuries are never good. Also, seriously Dolphins, stop hitting your star running back so hard you give him a concussion. He is on your side!

If I know one thing about concussions it's that they seem to happen repeatedly. I hope not for the kids sake. #DownWithTyrantsThough

Oh he will change his tune extremely quickly after something like this. The Dolphin fans will string him up if anything big would happen to Ajayi or Landry.

My Kenyan Drake stock doesnt suck so bad now! My trade of Wendall Smallwood doesn't suck so bad now! I'm not terrible at fantasy!

In all seriousness though, the Eagles are a great fit for Ajayi

There goes whatever value Smallwood had. Did not see this coming. Under contract next year as well. Steal for the Eagles in my opinion.

I think Ajayi is starting to come to the end. Watched him the other night and he doesn't look explosive. The Dolphins got very little for him. It was a great move by the Eagles who are going for it.

I've got Ajayi on the roster here....not sure if this is going to be much a + value wise...Eagles are for sure a better rushing team, Blount is 11th lg. wide, Ajayi 13th....2 yards difference.  So they share the load...
Philly is 4th in the lg. overall team rushing, 6th passing...and winning...no need to make adjustments...maybe Ajayi's value drops, unless Blount gets hurt

Blount will only be a short yardage back after this week, and then gone in 2018. This is a huge plus for Ajayi:

-He goes from one of the biggest messes on the offensive line, to one of the best offensive lines.
-He goes from one of the worst offenses that can't move the ball, to having TONS of scoring opportunities and more redzone opportunities.

I think it improves Ajayi's yards this year but Blount will hurt his TD value (whatever there was while in MIA). I'm still not high on him long term with his knee concerns and just from what I've seen on the field.

Had a solid debut with the Eagles, led the Eagles in rushing in their blowout victory over the Denver Broncos, carrying the ball eight times for 77 yards and a touchdown that came on a 46-yard run in the second quarter.
Analysis: Since he was just acquired on Monday, the Eagles had to rush to get Ajayi ready to play on Sunday and said before the game they would have a few packages for him just to be able to get him on the field. He rewarded their efforts by averaging nearly 10 yards per carry and punching in a touchdown, and he should be in line for even more work after the team's Week 10 bye week.

Hopefully this is the start of a long term performance that reflects his potential.
