Osweiler has been in Denver 3.5 years. Kubiak has been there .5, yet he will stifle Osweiler's development so much that he won't be able to play next year? As much as I want to give you credit for seeing something through the fog, this sounds like radio talkshow bullshit. Much, much worse QBs have been given much, much longer to prove themselves. They may trade him in which case I probably lose my bet, but Kubiak doesn't come in and ruin him after spending a year with him. Plus, Andy hates him so he is probably going to be pretty good.

I flipped a coin on a QB being a mid to long term starter. My bet is on his career floor being Kaepernick. A couple of decent years and even a little hype but then all of a sudden the sham is exposed. Ceiling = unknown. Regardless of how it turns out, yes, I have acknowledged overpaying. DD knows why. And he asked for more.

Osweiler really isn't that good. The thing is, I think he could do well under Kubiak's scheme. These 2 might just be what each other needed.

I think he has a lot of the right stuff. Really good passer, good in the pocket, athletic giant. I'm not big on thinking studying under a great QB makes you notably better, but his only notable weaknesses are exactly the things that he could/should have learned to improve under Peyton. And thanks to the Denver defense, the guy has a legit shot of entering next season with a Super Bowl ring on his finger...or at least being the runner up. That only matters if Peyton doesn't come back in a few weeks, though.

Why have they not extended him yet? Waiting till he is the starter would make it a lot more expensive...

Looks like the Osweiller deal was motivated, in part, to avoid the pink. But I like the value if you end up extending JStew.

Finding good QBs is not easy, so if Osweiler turns out good it was a great trade. I did like the way he moved around and found his receivers.

All I know is that Osweiller is a much better fit for Kubiak's offense than Peyton Manning was. It's a system that generally makes QB's play to their potential / look better than they are so he's got a chance.

Best thing that could have happened to Denver as they were winning fuck all with Peyton at QB.

I like the Freakshow side mostly because you are getting two good draft picks and also a young WR in Conley that I think will be a good #2 wr for that team for a long time. D'Qwell was tough to give up but at this point you are thinking future more then established good current point producers so you win.

Las Vegas Degenerates gave up Cousins, Kirk WAS QB;McFadden, Darren DAL RB
Titletown Tyrants gave up Foster, Arian HOU RB;Brown, Josh NYG PK

Trade:

Tyrants gave up:
Arian Foster RB
Josh Brown PK

Vag gave up:
Kirk Cousins QB
Darren McFadden RB

First trade, and it is a stop gap. I have a QB to play this week (Eli is on bye), and possibly look at giving one of these guys another year if they look promising. I am just not a Foster guy and JB I can live without.

Haha, hope my stool didn't get pushed in too hard. If Foster does play next year he gets a pretty good back for 5 weeks. It was a pleasure filled time with Vag....

I like Titletown's side. McFadden is best piece. Foster may never play again. Granted, if Foster comes back strong then Vag gets the nod.

I think Cousins might end up being the best player in that deal, short and long term. He's on a 1 year deal, but isn't his contract up in the real NFL? Not a bad player to slap an extension on and see if he ends up starting somewhere. Not bad for the corpse of Arian Foster.

I really don't like either side. But if I had to pick I would go with the Foster side because he is too good when healthy, and I do feel he will be back. Still not sold on Cousins as I don't feel he is a weekly NFL starting QB. He is more of a backup QB in the league than a starter, IMO

The pick came my way. Figured Dobson was worth a shot with Edelman out. Someone - probably Amendola / LaFell - is getting a lot more targets there for the rest of the season but it might be Dobson.

In reality, both are barely startable so I'll take the pick.

shrug

Roster Wars Trade

Tarpon Springs RedKnights gave up:
Yates, T.J. HOU QB
Brown, Antonio PIT WR
Hartline, Brian CLE WR
Moore, Lance DET WR
Myers, Brandon TBB TE
Mebane, Brandon SEA DT
Clayborn, Adrian ATL DE
Skrine, Buster NYJ CB

Littleton SilverBallers gave up:
Anthony, Stephone NOS LB
Year 2016 Round 1 Draft Pick from Muskego Muskies
Year 2016 Round 3 Draft Pick from Muskego Muskies
Year 2016 Round 4 Draft Pick from Minnesota Eternals

-----------------
Ok, I am gonna get ripped for this I know. But it seems one year contract guys are not as easy to "sell". A lot of you had cold feet when I offered very similar terms.

Yes it hurts losing Antonio Brown, yes I realize that I also lose the ability of one guy that can win $$$ by breaking the WR record. It hurts to lose my best player but...

I get a young LB who I feel might not be Tier 1 like the Kuechly's or Lavonte's but he does have a bright future as a starter for his team. His 8 year contract is not something that makes me overly excited as there are alot of risks with players and I dont think many deserve an 8 year deal but I can deal with it.
Anyway I saved myself a lot of WB's that I can use in other areas to help my team, and got a 1st round pick plus two other good picks to rebuilt my Defense who was greatly lacking LB's this year...

So in conclusion I am happy with the deal and even though I lose I hope you all can see how it makes sense also for me.

I think that is quite a haul for Brown. It's also going to cost the ballers 100 to SFT him.

I like your side in this Sty. I"m not sure Anthony will be in the Kuechly waters, but he's probably a LB1. The 8 year deal would scare me too as who knows WTF can happen with some of these guys.

But, if i had to pick a side, I pick the LB1+picks for Brown.

Agreed.

We were talking about a trade near this with Jaimie Collins and different picks, but for these reasons I didn't do it. We came close, and I really wanted Brown.

I'm more than willing to SFT Brown. I need offensive help in the worst way, so acquiring Brown was much needed for my team. Sucked giving up Anthony, but I am sure I will find a replacement in next years draft.

I am sooo excited to have Brown on my team, as he now gives me a legitimate WR1 for next year!

Yeah, that was my thought as well. The thought of pairing him with DT and OBJ made me giddy and I was going to SFT him as well, just couldn't pull the trigger as my roster is in rough shape and I need to rebuild. Nice job getting what you wanted.

Trade!

Murray, DeMarco PHI RB
Year 2016 Round 7 Draft Pick from England Dragons

Cybertron Screamers gave up:
Year 2016 Round 4 Draft Pick from Cybertron Screamers
Year 2016 Round 5 Draft Pick from Cybertron Screamers

I will take a chance on Murray even though he scares the crap out me. Hopefully his new coach likes him a lot.
