Quote :
According to the Seattle Times, Spencer Ware "appears basically just a tailback now" after working at fullback last offseason. Analysis: A second-year hammerhead power back out of LSU, Ware's reps have increased with Marshawn Lynch holding out. His running style is more similar to Lynch's than Christine Michael or Robert Turbin. Expected to make the Seahawks' 53-man roster, 22-year-old Ware is worth a stash in deeper Dynasty leagues.

Plugging one of my own :)

I really liked Ware prior to last years rookie draft, but he really did land in one of the worst spots possible and was immediately buried on the depth chart...

ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher considers Spencer Ware the team's No. 2 back behind Jamaal Charles.
Quote :
Although Charcandrick West made flashier plays, Ware severely outperformed him last season and is a better stylistic complement to Charles' game as a between-the-tackles pounder. There is a conceivable scenario in which Ware could offer some standalone value this year, especially if he handles short-yardage and goal-line work. Ware is a better late-round dart throw than West in fantasy drafts.

Interesting, that backup RB position is a mess there, but I like West.

Also, need to change the subject line to Kansas City for his team.

I concur. The Charknado is due in case (when) Charles goes down again.

As a local in KC I'd recommend Ware as the main backup to Charles for early down carries as well as goal line work. West they see is more of a change of pace guy going forward. Ware can be a 3 down back if Charles goes down. Ware is the more complete back over West.

no!

I don't like it...ride that horse Reid!!

Quote :
Coach Andy Reid said Friday the Chiefs will use a committee backfield in Jamaal Charles' (knee) absence.
"Yeah, they'll all play," said Reid, referring to Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware, and perhaps Knile Davis. "We'll roll them in." Asked if Ware is the favorite for goal-line work, Reid replied "I'm good with all three of them in that spot." Reid did indicate Ware would get the start, and it's conceivable the Chiefs will end up riding Ware for most of the game if he starts out hot. Still, this situation is shaping up as a bigger question mark than it seemed to be early in the week.

Gaaahhhh....already had to bench Charles this week. Replaced him with Ware in my lineup, but now I'm not sure...

Do I roll the dice with SW, or maybe Sterling Shepard, or Derrick Henry? I'm even considering Thomas Rawls...

Roll that fucking dice Sam, play Spencer Ware.

I keep hearing Hunt is going to replace Ware but i wouldnt be so sure. Charizard will probably see much less work, but i see war and Hunt eventually going about 50/50 They are totally different backs.

Many a backs each year are touted to steal jobs, few do. Ware may not be sexy, but the dude is stable and productive.

Lots of folks are touting Hunt, I'm not soo convinced. I'm surprised with this draft class KC didn't do more to address the position.

I agree. I was pretty disappointed in taking Pat, I was hoping they would take an impact player now since we are a playoff team right now. But instead we take a QB that won't be ready to start for 2 frickin years. I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks because I just don't get it.

Spencer Ware goes down with a knee injury in 1st quarter against Seattle. Was fighting for extra yards.

Looked like he hurt his knee on the cut then still pushed for like 5 extra yards.

He might be okay.

The Chiefs are calling Spencer Ware's right knee injury a "sprain."

A source told NFL Network Ware's ACL is "believed to be intact," and Ware's season is "not expected to end." ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Ware's PCL may have been affected. Either way, Ware is likely facing at least a multi-week absence, and we'd consider him extremely doubtful for Week 1, opening the door for impressive rookie Kareem Hunt to Pipp Ware on the depth chart.

I'm seeing PCL strain...nothing official other than this blurb.

Quote :
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Kareem Hunt will be the "featured back" in Spencer Ware's absence.
With Ware's timeline for recovery looking to be 4-6 weeks, Hunt will start and have an opportunity to lock up the starting job even when Ware returns. Reid has historically given his featured back plenty of carries and looks in the passing game, thrusting Hunt into a big role to start the season. Hunt should be taken around the 3rd/4th rounds in fantasy drafts with his RB1 upside.

Didn't think this would happen until much later in the season, or possibly next year...Giddy-up KH owners. sick

Saw reports with 2-8 weeks as well (under Wares page on MFL). Does Hunt give the job up though is the real question?

He suffered damage to his LCL and PCL. 2 months is probably the minimum amount of time he will be out. Hopefully he does not need surgery. All aboard the Kareem Hunt Hype train!

Sucks for Ware and his owners, but it's the best case scenario for the Hunt owners!

Gotta love all the hype trains. I watched a great deal of Hunt at Toledo and the kid is fun to watch but I'm still holding back expectations. Just cause you have the opportunity doesn't mean you'll fulfill expectations. Another kick in the nuts for the Silverbacks. Looks like the fantasy gods are against me this year. shrug
