Maybe I can't find the existing thread for this...???

Anyways, after I watched Moonrise Kingdom which was alright...

I watched Project X and while I certainly am not going to pound the table for this flick, I do think many of you will be entertained by it.  Its just weird in the beginning but it keeps picking up the pace and if you like tits, there are plenty.  The ending is pretty wild and some pretty awesome laughs to be had here.

I have watched a fuck ton of movies these past two weeks. Here's the short versions.

Moonrise Kingdom - My new favorite movie. Fucking amazing.
The Perks of Being A Wallflower - I highly recommend. Great story. Loved this movie.
Hotel Transylvania - Folks of all ages can enjoy this animated flick. I couldn't stop laughing.
Madagascar 3 - Meh. Enjoyable Not memorable.
Predator - Yeah I never saw it. Really had fun watching it though. Oh Arnie. GET TO THE CHOPPAH
The Conjuring - Fucking awesome movie. Was actually somewhat scary.
Here Comes The Boom - Liked it way more than I thought I would. I'd recommend it.
The Life Of Pi - Holy shit. Amazing movie. Must watch.
Solaris - In all fairness I started watching this 30 mins in but it totally bored the fuck out of me.

I think there were a couple others. All those I can remember now. My top favorites from that group:

#1 Moonrise Kingdom
#2 The Conjuring
#3 Life Of Pi
#4 Perks of Being A Wallflower
#5 Hotel Transylvania

I think I got about 4 minutes into Life of Pi and was like "fuck this" and bailed.

Watch "This is the End".....was awesome.

Went to the cinema for the first time in about a year this week and saw Gravity.

It was an interesting experience. The film itself is fine, nothing special - sorta 5 out of 10 - but some of the 3D was amazing. There were a couple of sequences in the film that blew me away so I'm really glad I went to see it on the big screen, despite the film being average.

Could not agree more on Solaris - the most boring film ever made.

I haven't seen Life of Pi but it looks as boring as Solaris.

cheers

There is no way I would even try a movie like Solaris or Life of Pi, they look too "serious"... I don't give a shit about "good cinema" and typically I can't stand dramas or movies about anything "real or serious"... I tend to prefer comedies (the goofier the better), fantasy (considering I was a D&D geek), animated movies (when I watch with my little guy) and horror movies (slasher and zombie flicks, campy humor is a plus)... I guess when I watch a movie, usually I want to completely escape the "real world".

So that being said, some of the recent movies I have watched and enjoyed are:

- We're The Millers
- The To Do List
- Turbo
- Grown Ups 2
- The Internship
- Monsters University
- The Croods

I am interested in seeing This Is The End, I think that might be the next one up! On occasion I do enjoy some movies that don't completely fall into my above criteria, and Wes Anderson movies are a guilty pleasure (most of them anyways), and I really enjoyed Moonrise Kingdom as well...

Life of Pi is a journey. A really well crafted story. The short version is that it's about an Indian boy whom is shipwrecked and his struggle to survive. Really good.

Sorry dude, that sounds awful to me! I am sure it is a "great" movie, but I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't make it through 10 minutes of that...

I don't care about story telling so much... and my taste in movies tend to run opposite of what the typical movie critic says... As a matter of fact when I am looking for a comedy, I check the tomato meter score and I usually go with the lowest score! I usually enjoy the comedies that movie critics hate, not always, but alot of the time the lower the tomato meter score, the more I like the comedy! For example, the wife and I watched 'Grown Ups 2' last night and it scored a 7% on the tomato meter and I fucking loved it! It had plenty of hot chicks and it was funny and that's good enough for me!

Reminds me of the old movie intermission clip.  Hotdog has to jump through hoops to get into that bun.

Forgot about this.

I saw the movie and loved it! Was just curious if any of you ended up checking this out? I know I liked it so much I bought the Blu-ray on black Friday!

Gotta love a movie about food porn lol3

If you guys want a movie to watch, check out "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" by Taika Waititi. Fucking hilarious, fucking great film. Taika is one of, if not my favorite, living directors today. He's behind the new "Thor: Ragnarok" movie, as well.

Couldn't recommend Wilderpeople enough. My favorite film of 2016.

Watched Kubo and the two strings on Netflix with my kids last weekend. Really really good, kids loved it and it might just be my favorite family movie from the last couple years. Right up there with Zootopia.

I watched The Bad Batch on netflix last night before football and there was no story. Anybody see it? Great actors with a bunch of meaningless characters. Music was awesome and concept of girl getting arm and leg chopped off by cannibals in first 5 minutes was cool.

I also saw The Babysitter on netflix and that was hilarious.

Watched both. The Babysitter was good and I forgot what I thought of the Bad Batch...it was weird...think that's all I had for it.
