I posted this because it was new news to the thread.  As for Mcdaniels only going to Indy if Luck is healthy.  I don't think that is true, Brissett came into a tough situation, he had to learn a new play book in a short period of time.  His numbers, 59%, 13TDs, 7 int, 3000+ yards, and mobility too.  Also has a relationship with Josh.  Now I am not saying he is Andrew Luck, but I think he could be a very capable starter in a JM system.  Draft Barkley, add a little to the O-line and you got something to work with.

Capable starter? How? Those numbers are terrible, and he led an edge playoff team to the 3rd worst record in all of football. He is not good.

Brissett came in behind the 8 ball, had he had the whole pre season things might have been Different. There was a story at the end of the year that he was still using GSP to get to the stadium on Sundays. But as a Colts fan kinda glad they didnt . Colts have a lot of needs and a high draft pick never hurts.

He had no training camp with the team, was forced into a tough situation where they kept expecting Andrew back. He is still a QB under development... I am saying with a full offseason and training camp he would be a capable starter. Also give him a O-line and run game.

Yeah, still not a believer. He started 16 games for them. Averaged 193 yards a game, and not even a TD a game. I dealt with my team having a terrible replacement QB as well, so I know the gig here. I saw Hundley pass for 180 yards a game, and just under a TD per game too, and it was painful. I know they are two different players, but I saw Jacoby play, and it was not pretty.

If Luck doesn't return 100% healthy it means 2 things...

1) BUST CITY

2) Indy is screwed in the shit-house for another 5-6 seasons while they restart...

So if they give him a football team he will be a good QB?

My team Tebow'd their way through the playoffs. I know about bad QB play. You have Hundley or Jacoby ... I have ... Henne! Which can't beat out Bortles. As a Jags fan, I have no sympathy for the Colts.

I believe the answer is somewhere in between...if Brissett were starting for the Jags, had a camp, had the supporting cast etc. he would have likely accomplished as much as Bortles did. He did not have a camp, he had bad coaching, but he is not a super talented guy. He won't elevate a mediocre team like Jimmy G did in San Fran.

Quote :
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Andrew Luck (shoulder) is "very close" to resuming a throwing routine.

Luck will head to Los Angeles to work with Tom House and Adam Dedeaux, QB specialists several prominent signal callers have credited with helping their arm strength and throwing motion. That suggests his recovery remains on track, although last year taught us to take nothing for granted in this situation. As of now, Luck looks like he will be ready for the start of the 2018 season.

You would think.  Didn't he start practicing for a week or two during the middle of the season?  And then IR'd him for the remainder of the year?  That worries me.

It's rare we get any good news for this thread but here's some. I still believe he could be one of the best QBs we've seen this generation.

"Luck will soon head out to the Los Angeles area to work with throwing gurus Tom House and Adam Dedeaux. House’s most famous client is New England quarterback Tom Brady."

this "headline" dropped right in the middle of the big game last night

"Increasing chatter that OC Josh McDaniels will stay in New England after this season"
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2757710-report-josh-mcdaniels-reportedly-may-turn-down-colts-hc-job-stay-with-patriots

I think it was said before in this thread, I think this absolutely has some part to do with Luck's health and if I owned ol' AL12 I'd be worried.

Quite the time for that headline to drop. If Luck can't come back, I would hate to be a Colts fan. I would guess they are probably going to need to start a five year rebuild because that roster is bad.

It has nothing to do with Lucks health... I think  Kraft started telling JM that he might get rid of Bellihuk

I don't know bro, I'd say my speculation is as good as yours.

A. Kraft saying he is going to get rid of one of the greatest coaches of all time and you are the heir - Stay with Pats
B. Looking at a roster that has no QB, and you've been there and done that experiment in Denver - Stay with Pats

According to Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston, Patriots OC Josh McDaniels becoming the Colts' head coach is "still a go."

Reports surfaced Sunday that McDaniels was getting cold feet about accepting the head job in Indy, which naturally fueled speculation of Bill Belichick's future in Foxboro. Despite the speculation, McDaniels is still likely to join the Colts and could be introduced as soon as Wednesday. If McDaniels lands in Indianapolis as expected, he could bring along ex-Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell as his offensive coordinator.

Gotta also wonder if there's a head-coach-in-waiting situation going on. Pats would be smart to have a succession plan in place. Not sure McDaniels would be my pick, but probably doesn't matter who tries to live up to Belichick era.

Schefter on the tweets

Schefter: Kraft threw mo money at em

Reiss: Clarity on Belichick committing to stay and young fam prompted McD to stay in NE

I can understand his decision if it came down to family and stability...we have moved a lot for work and it blows. The Super Bowl was all consuming, but I wish he and Kraft had sorted this out and the Colts and new Assistants had not got jerked around. I feel bad for all involved.

Agreed McDaniels just made himself Pats or bust now. I also dont see anyone messing with him after that.

Side note, Luck and his labrum now officially have their own watch on them.
