Quote :
Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said the team wants to take some snaps off of TE Kyle Rudolph in 2013 after rarely leaving the field last season. The coaching staff believes the increased workload hurt his productivity. Analysis: A healthy John Carlson should be able to take some of Rudolph's snaps without a significant drop in productivity at the position, but reducing Rudolph's on-field time also takes a bite out of his fantasy value.

Coach Leslie Frazier said Kyle Rudolph is "so much more sure of himself" this season. Analysis: Operating as an in-line tight end for the first time in his career last season, Rudolph struggled everywhere but the red zone. He averaged just 9.3 YPC, dropped six passes and was held under 40 yards 11 times. He finished as fantasy's No. 9 tight end thanks to his nine touchdowns and one 2-point conversion. Now that Christian Ponder is taking a step forward and Rudolph is more comfortable, he has a shot to show more consistency between the 20s.

So very talented. I know (Pro Bowl LOL) but during the Pro Bowl with a REAL QB throwing the ball he was incredible. Played like it was a real game.

I think Rudolph could really have a nice year, of course it all depends on the QB. Young QB's tend to lock in on the 1st or 2nd option so that could translate into big numbers.

Rudolph is leaner, faster, and stronger. . .presumably from trying to lift his new paycheck. The dollar figures of Rudolph's new deal might look a little large, but here's a fun little comparison between a couple of tight ends after their first three NFL seasons.

Tight End A - 39 games (32 starts), 109 catches, 1055 yards, 15 TD
Tight End B - 40 games (38 starts), 103 catches, 1132 yards, 9 TD

"A" is Kyle Rudolph. "B" is Vernon Davis. And I expect Rudolph to benefit from a change in offensive scheme every bit as much as Davis did.

I really like Rudolph this year. He could easily be a Top 5 TE for 2 reasons, he's going to have a good year and honestly there just aren't many good TE's

I'll throw down some cash. Top 8 is a no brainer if he stay's healthy. Top 8 in fantasy points using this leagues scoring. Name your price

Graham, Thomas, Cameron, Gronkowski, Rudolph, Davis ,Witten, Olson, Bennett, Clay, Walker, Reed. These are my Top 12 TE's. Gronkowski probably won't play the whole season and Gates has a lot of miles on him, Fleener could probably be in there somewhere too.

Dwayne Allen's return relegates Fleener to a reserve role in terms of fantasy...   Allen is a much better player than Fleener.  As a matter of fact,  I would not be surprised to Allen in the top 8 TE's,  I would probably bump Clay or Bennett to make room for Allen...

I'll admit I didn't think about how shitty the competition is. Pettigrew is no longer a factor, Finley is no longer a factor, Gonzalez is no longer a factor.

I'm not one to back down from a bet though. $10 and I posted in The Board.

Rudolph will need surgery on his groin injury and will be out about six weeks, NFL.com reports. Analysis: Rudolph had an MRI after Sunday's game and apparently it showed significant damage. The Vikings don't have a clear receiving option at tight end with Rudolph out as Rhett Ellison is more of a blocker. MarQueis Gray could now have a larger role. Chase Ford may be called up from the practice squad as a result. The Vikings may just end up using more three- and four-receiver sets.

The "best" tight end in the NFL speaks out on Fantasy Football... ROFL

Quote :
Kyle Rudolph believes he's the best tight end in the NFL.
"Route running and catching balls, to many, is all that matters," Rudolph reasoned. "But it’s also (about) being one of the best blockers, one of the best pass protectors." Rudolph went on to say he believes fantasy football hurts his reputation. "The world revolves around fantasy football ... But I know that when I come to work every Monday, and I (watch) the film, I may have only caught two balls, but if I did my job in the run game and pass protection, (Vikings coach Mike Zimmer) is going to be happy." Rudolph is correct that no one will ever mistake his passing game numbers for elite. He's incorrect that his game is amongst the league's most well rounded. Pro Football Focus graded him as the league's No. 35 tight end in 2016. We'd say that sounds about right. Happy off-season.

I doubt he's the best TE in Minnesota...

Whoops, past the line. Sorry. Still bitter at him, drafted him years ago and still not happy.
