Well, we're 3 weeks in and I haven't heard one complaint about our scoring system....I hope this means nobody has issues with it vs the rage is being bottled up to be unleashed on me later....LOL

I figured it may take more than one year to truly see how it will be viewed long term.

So far, I am very happy with it. Between injuries and very slow starts by teams that were unexpected (Packers/Saints/Patriots) I am not surprised to see the defense side of the ball being more prevalent at the top of the rankings.

My gut feeling is that any player who gets hot could quickly climb the charts since no single player is appearing to be that dominant force like we have seen before. Is it the referees and the uniqueness of these 3 weeks worth of games? something else?

Anyways, just thought I would see what others thought. Coming from past leagues that have lopsided scoring setups, its nice to see all players having a shot to be the best guy.

Now if only one of my guys could be that guy, I could truly be happy. tongue

I like it. Still adjusting to big scoring from normally crappy positions (DT, CB) but I certainly think that the balance is encouraging a lot more trading and it's nice to see that DT, CB can be traded for other positions.

Yea I am glad that CB and DT arent barrel scrapers in this league. I found myself actually debating who to start at DT this week whereas normally I wouldnt care too much. I like it especially since my defense is carrying me at the moment and my offense hasnt even hit its stride yet.

One league I am in has the QBs very high and the DT/DE position mine as well be kickers and despite pointing it out, nobody gave a shit and it is what it is. Annoying if you ask me. Like I said above, it will be a couple years to see how it plays out but if we were right in the setup, every position has a CHANCE to be the top player of the year and excelling at their position will be the only way to succeed.

Of course trends can fuck up anything.

I think it was 2010 when every top TE basically went to IR so their numbers were skewed. Last year QBs were off the map. We'll have to wait and see but at least we got this far without finding some glaring flaw so I am excited on that front.

I have a serious problem with RW scoring - my team isn't doing enough of it. Mad

Solid scoring system. All players at all positions are relevant. Nothing is shocking thus far, all good. chief

I like the system a lot so far. Love the positional parity.

Glad to see a free agent DT and CB being my number 2 and 3 high scorers on my team

I like the scoring as it offers a lot of flexibility.

Yeah I'm waiting to see how things go for a longer period of time. Certainly like the roster flexibility
I have a slight concern about the weekly peak scoring of some positions that are virtually impossible to predict and are often random year to year (e.g. CB etc.) but no desire to overreact...

^ good post. I agree with this. Things like PD's being worth 4 pts and a TD only being worth 6 points seems way imbalanced. It allows positions to be balanced but then, as Ian stated, it leaves a lot up to luck because those things are not stable year after year.

I like the fact that all the positions can produce and help you win. It does make submitting a lineup a little more difficult but in a good way.

I think I am just going to put a dartboard on the wall to help pick my defensive starters. Pretty maddening. hairout

This will be as good of a thread as any to put this.

Pass deflection points keep disappearing over and over. Weird.

Don't forget that tackle for a loss isn't tallied until about 30 minutes after the game is final.

The scoreboard page has a goofy glitch at the end of the week that resets Monday night player scores to zero for 30 minutes or so after the game. Hopefully MFL gets that fixed.

I noticed that too about the pass deflection points Shawn.. They show up for a few minutes and then they are gone.

Bringing up this thread also allowed me to notice once again that Tony needs to stop getting his photo taken right after getting his eyes dilated.

Especially when you don't read the news about your players being benched mock

Especially when benched for a guy who lets Green go for 10 for 173 plus a TD.

MFL is terrible this year at adding TFL after the games. It's been 3 hours and JPP still hasn't updated. They've always kept it within an hour in the past.

I'm always worried. Even when I'm up by 50 with 2 extra players on the other guy, I know that 1 player can delete the entire lead in a matter of half an hour.
