A source with knowledge of the situation told Profootballtalk.com that Reggie Bush's left knee injury "doesn't look bad." Analysis: Bush will undergo a "thorough examination," presumably including an MRI, on Monday. For now, though, it sounds like the Dolphins don't anticipate Bush missing a significant amount of time. Bush did make his way off the field after the injury Sunday with only a slight limp, although he never returned to the field after going down toward the end of the second quarter.

Something to watch!

While the feeling is that the left knee injury Bush suffered Sunday is "nothing season-ending," the Dolphins are concerned that Bush may miss a few games, the Palm Beach Post reports. Bush is expected to have an MRI on Monday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Analysis: If Bush is forced to miss time, as feared, then second-year back Daniel Thomas and rookie Lamar Miller would be called upon to fill in, likely in a time-share to begin with.

According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Dolphins running back Reggie Bush said his left knee injury is "just a bruise" and he's "working hard to get back for this week." Analysis: The MRI on Bush's knee Monday revealed no structural damage so it's unlikely to be a lingering issue. His status for Week 4 will depend on how quickly the bruise heals and the pain subsides so we'll track Bush's status during the week.

Lucky!

The Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions are both likely to be interested in Miami Dolphins impending free-agent RB Reggie Bush, who is highly unlikely to be re-signed by Miami. The Dolphins will, however, offer Bush a "team-friendly" offer. Analysis: Both the Bengals and Lions are looking for a "speed" back to complement their plodding between-the-tackles feature back. Unless another team steps up with more of a feature back offer (with feature back money), those may be Bush's only options.

He would be MONEY on the Lions.

A third-down back? They need an every down back.

Bush is going to want a decent paycheck, why would the Chargers spend that kind of cash on a free agent that would just be a third down back? Seems fishy to me... If they got Bush I think it would be more of a timeshare and would negatively impact both him and Mathews as far as fantasy goes... at least until Mathews gets hurt and misses time again!

Rotoworld again:

The Cardinals' interest in free agent Reggie Bush is "significant."

That answers the Ryan Williams question if true. They are also showing no interest in re-signing LSH apparantly.

How does that answer the Ryan Williams question? Bush is not a feature back, he had a bigger role in Miami but he was never 'the guy'. And they drafted Thomas and Miller while really making no attempt to keep Bush. On top of all that Bush is 29. I think the Cardinals were always planning on bringing in another RB, that is no surprise, with Williams injury history the last two seasons they would be crazy not to... I think this will be a timeshare initially if they sign Bush but I don't think he will replace Williams. Bush is pushing 30 while Williams is only 23 and has significantly more upside than Bush at this point.

Just - if the story is true - that they don't see Williams as an every down back. If they sign Bush, Williams will still get plenty of touches.

For 2 games before he gets injured.

cheers

Yeah, we'll see how it pans out, I think they want to see what they have in Williams but unfortunately your comment about 2 games and injured is not that far off from reality! The weird thing about this for me is the Cards new coach Bruce Arians is not that fond of passing the ball to RBs out of the backfield, and if you take that part of Bush's game away, he is a below average RB IMO.

Apparently, Bush has left the Lions facility to go get a physical. Not the most reliable source though

Yeah I've been holding back saying anything so far Lots of speculation. Waiting for confirmation. Makes sense though and completely kills any value thae LeShoure had.

I thought LeShoure was overrated, but so is Bush, and he's older... I am not sure about him being the feature back... on pass plays he can definitely help add an explosive element that they currently don't have, but on typical running downs he is woefully average at best!

I think Bush will be exactly what the Lions had in Jahvid in Detroit.

Last year Detroit faced the most 6 man boxes in the league. I think Bush will catch a ton of passes in Detroit and do well running b/c he's just going to be running those stupid sprint draws that the Lions run all the time. But, I think with the way the Lions spread people out, he'll have lots of room.

I envision Sproles type of reception numbers + slightly better rushing yards.

I hope Lions can get the deal done.

ETA: just saw that Suh restructured his deal, which is paving the way for a FA splash signing. dizzy

Lions and Reggie Bush have agreed to terms on a 4-year contract. Press conference set for 1:45.

Bush dislocated his left thumb and suffered a pulled groin early in the first quarter of Sunday's 34-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

"[My] thumb's all right," Bush said. "It'll probably start killing me in a little bit once everything wears off. I dislocated it early in the first quarter and it was facing the wrong direction.

"They just popped it back in. Thankfully I was able to tape it up and carry the ball in my right hand."

Bush missed some time but returned to catch four passes for 101 yards and a touchdown along with rushing 21 times for 90 yards.

"I know I said I didn't get beat up this game," Bush said. "Just had a few things here and there and was able to play through some of this stuff."

Bush (thumb/groin) participated fully in Wednesday's practice, the Lions' official site reports. Analysis: Despite a dislocated thumb and groin pull suffered during the season opener, Bush was not held back in the slightest in the first drills of the week. The Lions do not intend to scale back a workload that led to 90 rushing yards, 101 yards receiving, and a touchdown through the air in Week 1. Barring a setback, expect him to produce once again Sunday in Arizona.
Figured he'd at least be limited. Awesome.

Another game or two like the first will result in the newest Ford model being called the "Bush".

Seems to be trending the exact opposite of some guy named Wilson from NY.

The "Bush" takes a licking and keeps on ticking, fans are McLovin' him.

The "Wilson" tries to rumble, but continues too fumble. Then takes foot and inserts in mouth. Fans are going to turn on him. Mark it.

When Bush is not in the lineup, the Lions offense looks completely different. Inept. If you look at the stats from the first half vs. the second half in week 2, it was night and day.

Word out of Detroit is that the injury to his knee that kept him out of the 2nd half is not long term, but they haven't said whether he'll miss any weeks. Friggin Schwartz and his not telling anyone anything

Looks like the Lions may be shutting Bush down for a few weeks to let his ankle completely heal. With Bell back healthy and Megatron back, I think they'll hold him out for a few weeks so he doesn't just play the opening series and then sit out hte rest of the game like he has the last couple of times he's gone out there.

Why keep paying this guy, when Theo Riddick has shown he can do the change of pace thing nearly as well as Bush... The real winner (for now at least) is Joique Bell, he should get the lion's share of the early down work and a majority of the carries...

Reggie Bush will miss 4 games because of injury and Hyde will become more important to the team and Reggie soon will be forgotten. If he cannot beat out JBell and TRiddick anymore he wont last long there either IMO
