OK, Nick - - - up for a little wager?  I say the Lions take the NFC North.

Hmmm.... What are you thinking, before I make a bet? I typically don't like to make bets on the Packers, but depending on the wager I would think about it. Are you thinking that you want to make a snowman Nick?

I hope and pray that Detroit shocks the world and finds a way to win Sunday night. The Packers are a cluster fuck this year and while neither team will do anything in the playoffs, at least the Lions have played like a division contender all season.

laughing  I was about to correct this. Awesome.

Rob, Yes, the Packers struggled early on, but over the past 5 weeks I don't know if you could choose a handful of teams that have been more solid than them. It isn't about your early season, it is about getting together and getting hot at the right time, and that is what they have done to salvage their season and put themselves in the boat to contend for a division title.

I will say this, as a Giants fan, I am rooting for the Lions this weekend. I really do not like the thought of having to travel to Green Bay for a playoff game, even if Eli has done it before.

That said, I think GB wins this weekend.

Sorry - didn't pursue this when you said you don't like to make bets on the Packers.  Sure hope the Lions can pull off the win though.

Possibly, but I am sure they will be heavy underdogs if they face teams like ATL or DAL. I expect an extremely close game in Lambeau this weekend. Hopefully they come out on top.

For obvious reasons I disagree with your last sentence, but I think they get past the Giants this weekend. After that, give me ARod over a rookie QB making his first playoff start any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Matt Ryan's playoff futility is no secret either, and outside of 2013 has looked downright bad, even in his one home game.

I'm hearing GB might be looking to move on from Ted Thompson, after this year. I don't know what to think about that....

I mean I like Ted and all, but there comes a time when you have to realize that building through the draft is ok. But you also need to bring in some key FAs to push you over the top.

So maybe it will be good to get a new GM that will draft good, plus bring in key FAs.....

Does Jordy's rib injury help or hurt the Packers this weekend? I think it hurts them.

Has to hurt them. Not having your WR1 is never a good thing. Just because the Giants couldn't cover Cobb doesn't mean the Cowboys won't.

I think it's going to hurt them a little, but Allison has shown to step up in big moments, so it shouldn't be that bad.

Even though he drops a lot, I still consider Adams 1B to Nelson. He has some really good games this year, so I also look for him to step up too

Hurts a little, but definitely not a killer. They dropped 38 on a good defense completely without him last week. I don't think we have troubles moving the ball on Dallas without Jordy.

Packers director of football operations Eliot Wolf removed his name from consideration for the 49ers' vacant general manager position.
Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports Wolf was given a new contract in Green Bay, one that might include language about his eventual replacement of GM Ted Thompson. Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst appears to be the favorite for the 49ers job.

Quote :
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Jordy Nelson (ribs, illness, questionable), Davante Adams (ankle, questionable) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) will all be available for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Falcons.
Morgan Burnett is also expected to play after exiting last week's game with a thigh injury. Out of those four, only Burnett and Nelson were able to practice this week. Coach Mike McCarthy has acknowledged that if this were a regular season game, the receiving trio of Adams, Allison and Nelson would all be out this week. Jordy and company deserve credit for gutting it out at much less than 100 percent, but it's anyone's guess how long each player will last or how effective they'll be. Look for Randall Cobb and Jared Cook to be target hogs Sunday in what should be a high-scoring affair at the Georgia Dome.

No suicide watch. Sucks, sucks bad. Today was about a lot of things. 1- we were outplayed by a team that is just better than us, and red hot. 2- Our injuries were again ridiculous. Hopefully next year we can maintain better health. 3- nothing went our way. In the past games we had good bounces, from the getgo, it just wasn't our day.

Congrats to the Falcons. I am sad, but could not be more proud of my team. After a rocky start, they came back and ran off 8 games, won the division, won 2 playoff games and were on the cusp of entering another Super Bowl. As a fan, this team is everything I can ask for. Do we need help to get us over the hump next year? Surely, but I'm excited for 2017.

Go Pack Go.

Maybe someday they'll have a defense good enough to get to the Superbowl again. Injuries or not it's clear our defensive is below average every year.

The Packers can be proud of their run - they looked down and out mid season.

Nick summed it up well. Don't think anyone would have stopped the Falcons today no matter what.

Atlanta will likely light up the Pats for about 31 to 37 points, unfortunately the Pats will light up Atlanta even more and Brady will get his 5th ring. Sad, but true. ARGH!

Not enough bullets in the gun, and not enough body armor to withstand the onslaught...Still, nice call by Rodgers, and helluva a run.
