Amukamara was carted off the field Friday with a right leg injury.

Analysis: It was hard to see what may have happened to the second-year cornerback on a routine tackle late in the first quarter, but he was unable to put any pressure on the leg. We'll have better indication of Amukamara's injury later in the night as he is currently in the locker room for X-rays

X-Rays were negative.  High Ankle Sprain.

Updating a previous item, New York Giants CB Prince Amukamara (ankle) could miss several weeks with a high ankle sprain. "It is not a fracture," head coach Tom Coughlin said. "They were saying high ankle. Dr. (Russ) Warren thought it was mild. I don't like that term 'high ankle.' If it a mild sprain, perhaps, it is not going to take as much time getting back."

I've heard high ankle sprain a few times now. We'll see.

Amukamara (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 1, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Analysis: The team hopes to have him back for Week 2.

With Thomas on IR they need him back sooner rather than later.

Amukamara (ankle) is still not running and his return to action likely will not come for a couple of weeks, the New York Post reports.

Analysis: Amukamara suffered a high ankle sprain during the Giants' final preseason game. Without him, New York struggled in pass coverage against Dallas and saw his replacement, Michael Coe, tweak his hamstring. While Coe's injury is not believed to be major, Amukamara is not ready for a quick return, revealing, "The trainers explained to me that pain isn't good and they just told me the whole 1, 2, 3 of the injury. I've just been trying not to put a lot of pressure on it lately."

Play your #3 WR's against the Giants...

Amukamara (ankle) is active for Thursday's game at Carolina. Analysis: A wait-and-see approach is appropriate for Amukamara, who has just 14 career NFL tackles to him name.

Finally...

New York Giants CB Prince Amukamara said he has had no contract extension talks with the team because "I haven't given them a return on their investment."

That actually makes me a little sad that he said that. Poor kid.

Amukamara (groin) will undergo an MRI, according to Giants' coach Tom Coughlin, the New York Daily News reports. Analysis: Amukamara left Saturday's preseason game with a groin strain, but told reporters afterward that he didn't feel a pop and was able to both jog and cut while on the sidelines. That being said, Amukamara also revealed that he doubted his ability to go full-speed, so that's why he never returned to Saturday's game. For further clarification on Amukamara's ailment, he'll have an MRI performed on his sore groin.

*sigh*

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports Giants RCB Prince Amukamara is out a minimum of 3-4 weeks with a "partial tear in his pectoral area."
Analysis: Losing Amukamara is a big blow for the Giants' defense. Already unable to generate anything resembling a pass rush, New York will now have to rely on Trevin Wade opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for the next month. Amukamara's absence is an upgrade for Sam Bradford and the Eagles' passing game.

Jags continue building their "D"...Hope he can stay healthy for them.

Quote :
Jaguars signed CB Prince Amukamara, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year contract.
The 27-year-old (in June) 2011 first-rounder will slide in opposite Davon House. It's surprising Amukamara had to settle for a one-year deal, but he has a lengthy injury history, and hasn't always quite lived up to his first-round pedigree. He's still an above-average starter, however. It's a strong signing for a Jags team aggressively addressing its deficient defense in free agency. Amukamara is a healthy season away from a much bigger payday next offseason.

Surprised the Jags signed him. I thought they were happy with Aaron Colvin. Apparently, not.

Ya pretty pleased with his landing spot. I won't be trading him though! He is even more valuable then Richard Sherman now on my team!
