Helu is dealing with Achilles' tendinitis, Rich Campbell of The Washington Times reports. Analysis: We'll await further details on this nugget, but if Helu's issue is anything other than minor, it would lead to a bump in Evan Royster's value.

Biggest bust of 2012.  Mark my words.  You can't count on ANY Washington running back.  Not as long as Shanny is there.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that both of Helu's Achilles' are sore, John Keim of the Washington Examiner reports.

Analysis: Helu did not practice Monday and it's concerning that now both of his heels are troublesome. With Tim Hightower still bouncing back from a knee injury, Evan Royster's chances of carving out a significant early season role continue to grow.

Coach Mike Shanahan is optimistic about Roy Helu's recovery from turf toe, Rich Campbell of the Washington Times reports. Analysis: The injury cost Helu all but three games last season, but it appears his recovery is going as planned. Although Alfred Morris solidified his spot as the Redskins' starting running back with his superb rookie season, it is worth noting Helu's recovery given Shanahan's history with juggling running backs. Even though Morris will likely keep his starting gig, Helu may receive some snaps as a change-of-pace back.

Beware the Shanahanagins.

The Morris owners shudder. Who spent a 100 on him? Laughing

Washington Redskins RB Roy Helu could serve as the third down, short yardage back behind RB in 2013. Helu is familiar with the pistol offense, running it regularly when he played at Nebraska. Analysis: It's easy to forget about Helu, who missed most of last season with an injury and subsequently lost touches to Alfred Morris. While Morris is still the go-to guy in Washington for now, Mike Shanahan has been known to shuffle his backfield on occasion so Helu is an intriguing handcuff and/or deep sleeper fantasy play.

Never trust Shanahan.

I always kinda liked Helu, um not so much anymore. Does Helu have some felony on his record that I haven't heard about, if not than I don't understand this move.

4 millliiiooonnn dollars. This dents Murray's value quite a bit.

I think Derrick Carr is on an Alex Smith level. I wouldn't get the last decade of the Raiders confused with what they have started to build. Add Helu and a top rookie receiver and the Raiders could turn heads.

It dents Murray's value because he will play enough to cut into Murray's time of the field or he will be better than Murray?

I think Murray had some good games while sharing time last year.

I love Helu and if Murray goes down or falters Helu will take off with the starting gig....

Maybe my FF Blockers are on but I just don't see it with Helu. He might provide a good breather for Murray now and again but I don't see the lead back role being something he can run away with. Since he is a part of the raiders Nation now I will hope for the best for him.

All I know is every time he got the start in Washington he put up big numbers. He's a complete back and I'm counting on him to put up some numbers for me this year.
